Well I was on the site way before the end, as obviously the demand would be high. But it hit 00.00.00 and nothing happened. So I refreshed and keep getting network timeouts because the demand is so high.

I think I was right bro, when I said that the countdown was just leading up to the E3 trailer. The original teaser site now redirects visitors to this link:

It is the Kojima E3 site, you get to a wall with posters on it. Only two now, one is a link to the 'mask' site, the other just the pic of Raiden.

However on the wall it says RESISTANCE in big red letters.

Surely it will be MGS4: RESISTANCE?

I own both systems so I dont care what it comes out on. He is not alienating anyone. Seems the fanboys are already crying. If anything he would be bringing Metal Gear in the homes of WAY more people on the 360 than the PS3.
