Wow. I am surprised how anyone could prefer it.

Personally, I would rank Sons of Liberty as being my least favorite in the entire series. Mostly for all the weird reasons that I stated before about Kojima's attempt to replace Snake with Raiden :lol. The immense plot twists, upon ridiculous plot twists were another problem - as if Kojima was trying to hurry things along and squeeze as much as he could into a 6 hour storyline.

Of course, the last time I played MGS 2 was way back in 2004. I've matured a lot since then, and perhaps my opinion would be changed if I decide to replay the game in the present :monkey3.

MGS2 is the weakest link in the story so far IMO. Maybe it was the insane hype building up to its release, or the whacky plot developments that might have been too hard to swallow. The tanker incident was easily the best part of it. That game really evolved some of the great things you did in Metal Gear Solid gameplay wise. But the heart of Metal Gear games are the stories. And MGS2 had the weakest one.

Completely agreed, once again. :lol Our views are sympatico.

Im gonna have to agree with many of you and have MGS2 as the worst of the bunch, it was still fun but compared to the other of this series it just didnt do it.

The worst of the bunch was MGS: Twin Snakes. I thoroughly enjoyed MGS2 when it came out in 2001 and didn't harbor any unwarranted hatred for Raiden.

How do you figure?? It's just MGS remade. Kojima still oversaw its development.

It's a flaming turd. It took everything that made the original so great and tainted it. Redoing the amazing voice acting, giving snake super-human, matrix like moves, the added elements made it too easy, the gamecube control was not suited for the gameplay, I can go on and on. They changed too much and didn't honor the source material enough.

It's like remaking a classic hollywood film, it just shouldn't be done. As a true MGS fan it's not even on my radar, I gave it many chances, but in the end...I hate it to death. It doesn't even convey the same mood and atmosphere, it's too clean to polished, it's just not the same MGS. Everything was lighted up, the music was changed, it's just a mess all over the board.

Wookie run someplace else if your going to troll and instigate arguments.

I managed to find a copy of twin snakes in a gamestop awhile back. The cinematics might of changed a bit but I looked past that. Since the controls were more like MGS2, I played it more as if it was a mod of running MGS1 in a MGS2 engine. I found it enjoyable. I like a different take on a classic game.

They shoulda put me at the helm thing woulda blew away the original.

Right now it's a sad attempt at a game. Everything they added was not needed and it didn't bring any new except cheesy bullet time effects, and a Snake with super-human ninja moves. And the added shooting in first person view, tranq gun, and hanging made the game far easier than the original.

It's not worthy.

Twin Snakes was the main reason for why I bought a Gamecube. Sure, in a few aspects, Twin Snakes wasn't as good as the original game, and the boss fights became much easier with the first-person view. However, it was really nice to finally see MGS 1 with updated graphics, and the cinematics were absolutely breathtaking, especially when the game was played on my DLP television.

Now, in terms of a collectible video-game investment, I prefer Twin Snakes over the original MGS 1. If you guys check Ebay, the prices for used copies of Twin Snakes has been skyrocketing in value, while the prices for used MGS 1s have remained static.
