I was wondering, how is the PAK Meryl? There' someone selling me his used figure but an elbow pad broke off. Is it worth the $30?

Thanks guys, I guess I'll get her just for the heck of it. I guess $30 for a used PAK isn't bad at all.

It'll be a piece to just glue the elbow pad back on

I think it has a slot and the elbow a little peg, easy peasy

Thanks guys, I just bought her. :yess:

Since the Sean Dabbs Snake is not too far away, I'm trying to get back into painting and sculpting, been leaving the unfinished Liquid and Meryl in storage for months now. Hopefully I'll get them 100% done by this year, as been caught up with work and too much videogames. :lol

Btw Pliss, those are some awesome shots, you really captured the weathering job on RAY. :clap

Thanks Ryan! I think they went a little overboard with it in some areas though.

I think Solidus mentioned yesterday about showing where the buttons are, I just stuck them in paint and circled them.

Red circles are for moving the flipper at a pivot point at the shoulder, but it's just the flipper that moves and not the shoulder. Although you can move the shoulder as well.

Blue turns the entire leg forward and backward, and Green turns the leg outward at the hip joint. I didn't circle the exact buttons since I'm not sure which they are since it's hidden within the design. But the Blue is in the center and the Green is right on the inner leg with the button somewhat going underneath the leg section. Maybe I'll photo it specifically tonight.

Yellow is for moving of the main kness. The second rear knees can be moved without buttons.

Awesome pictures again man, and great info! :duff I like how ThreeA blended the buttons into the RAY's design.

So, what's your overall impression of RAY's articulation? Does it move easily or are some of the joints too tight? Also, how's the quality of the plastic - is it better or worse than REX?

Overall I think it's worth the purchase. The only problems I see are some run of the mill QC issues. Small paint defects, over weathering in parts like the rear of my RAY's head. The joints feel more solid than REX. One common QC issue it seems, since I saw 2 other people saying the same thing on the 3A forum... is the arm pit flaps don't stay flushly closed on the left side. You need to fold them down if you want to move the flippers down at all. The flaps are also on a track, so you need to slide them in a certain position, before linking them to the flipper... which isn't clearly explained in the instructions, which I had to discover on my own. You can actually make them lay flush, if you move the track to a point that it will be snug to the flipper section it locks into. I think the reason the left one isn't laying flush without futzing is because the joints weren't put in the right position compared to the right, since the right seems to be already in the futzed position that I need to put the left. I hope this makes sense :lol

You can also see in this picture a better description of what I mean by flaps. This isn't mine BTW.

Yeah, it looks like you got the wings in the right position - great catch. Also good news about the plastic; this sounds like a much better figure than REX.

So, wait, are you back on the ThreeA forum now? :lol
