It's funny, MGS ended for me in 2008. But, I honestly think I'm burnt out with this series after MGS V :lol. Kojima chose a right time to depart (or rather, Konami chose a right time to fire him) because this thing has been going on for far too long. I also feel like an old man, being a generation older than a lot of the upcoming kidz, who played Peace Walker in 2010 and have since latched onto this series like their momma's umbilical chords.

MGS V might be the greatest game in the series, or it might be a complete flop in terms of its storyline and themes. But, it's not even going to matter, and discussing the future of this franchise no longer makes sense. Kojima's not with Konami anymore, and the next MGS "game" might be in a yaoi-themed pachinko machine.

Coming Sept. 1st, this series is done, folks!
Story wise, MGS did end in 2008, MGR's the closest to any true continuation frankly.

I know how you feel with PW, I feel that way with some franchises sometimes like kids who started with the more recent Legend of Zelda titles and don't know about the glory of the older games that paved the way....a few other franchises also are the same. Don't get me wrong, some of the recent Zelda games are fine, but those kids are too oblivious to the flaws and almost glorify them. It's almost the same with other franchises too, like Sonic, as you and I have talked about before. Don't get me started about kids and the new :slap:

I really just hope Konami will know to leave MGS alone and just do Metal Gear games. Leave Kojima's work alone. At least leave MGS1-3 alone...

As long as Raiden is not dead, there will always be another MGS game.

Why? It's from a completely different game. To me its like saying "I hope the new sonic figure is shown soon, if its nice I'm gonna sell my Mario figure."

It's just how I want to collect. I can dig how other collectors like having every version of the same character, but I want just one of each. What I see as the best version of that character is. While other may not share my opinion I'm not the biggest fan of Medicom. There figures are smaller than SS, or Hot Toys, and they're not as detailed. I also think Punished Snake is a really cool design!

Has it been confirmed that HT is making MGSV figs? I have no idea what their license extends to (always been curious as to why they didn't reach back into MGS 1/2). I was thinking Squenix would have it covered - the Venom Snake Sneaking Suit PAK looks amazing.

apparently that's from a Hot Toys catalogue.

I prefer him bald... not as a ginger.

Mantis(?) looks good, but I prefer is MGS1 look too. He'd better be cheaper if he comes with nothing but a stand. Of course, "cheap" will probably be $100, based on the ridiculous money they're charging for Ocelot. Getting greedy, just as they are with the Marvel Variant line!

All you can really do at this point is see if they go on sale eventually but then you have to wait forever to get the figure.

As cool as the PAK figures look I can't get away from 1/6. I'm eager to see what Hot toys makes from this title.

I hope they do it well and do more than 1 to 2 figures.

Ocelot. 2 versions of Snake, 1 in the sneaking suit. Quiet and Skullface would all be welcome.
