How the heck did SO MANY of you got a defective Liquid? I even know a few cats around here that had the same issue. SE should have issued an apology and recall but since PAKs are so popular, I doubt they even care.

I could just imagine some SE employee playing domino with these.

I don't know if its the cheerleader effect but these look terrific.
The one on the very right looks exactly like the ingame model. must be the blurry picture

I don't get why they used windowed boxes and then some with the cover.

PAK aren't worth even close to the retail. I'm still waiting to find a decent priced Yuffie.

Not a prayer I'd by this at retail, if it was getting it

I remember the PW days when the PAKs came out. People were praising how detailed, accurate and affordable the PAK Snake was. I got it right away and was blown away by it, I've never seen such a gorgeous Snake figure right out of the box, but the PW line never reached the insane after market prices of Solid Snake, Ninja or Raiden.

I'm guessing the internet age where MGS is commercialized to death on sites such as Facebook really brought out people who've never collected figures before and PAK is the go-to company for MGS figures, hence why it's so popular despite being overpriced. This would have never happened during the McFarlane days where the figures were cheap and the best of their times.

You gotta hand it to SquareEnix, it's an brilliant business strategy. Let's just hope they don't introduce a build-a-figure option.

Bowling... I guess that's one hypothesis for why the figures come with dents and paint scuffs :lol.

Man, no kidding. I gave up on PAKs a while ago :slap. The $100+ prices don't justify the loss in quality.
:goodpost: Spot on!

Very true my friend. I remember when play arts when it was just play arts, and the figures were £20 each!

FF7 cloud + Daytona was only £50, I can't even get a regular figure for that now it's insane

I know you asked me about the recent FFX figures, my suggestion is if you really need or want then for your collection (like myself, I have all the play arts FF stuff) then buy them.

But if they aren't a necessity and more of a casual 'want', then if suggest boycotting or waiting to see if they drop in price. Which I don't know if they will, as I said yuffie is still far too expensive

Sorry for the going off topic slightly

No, you're absolutely right about FFX. Solidus and I both wanted them, but it's not easy at all to say yes because subconsciously I'm still against the idea Square's monopoly.

Again folks, nothing against the PAK figures since they're so well crafted. It's just the days where PAK was the underdog are long gone.

Go and read/watch any review of the sneaking suit Snake (that were published in 2010) and just see how people gawk in awe at the bargain they're getting. :lol

These insane prices is exactly why I haven't purchased in a while, I refuse to pay their insane MSRPs.

That is a shame. I haven't gotten any because of their high price and quality control. Here's hoping there's more appealing options in the future. Right now I just want a great Solid and Liquid Snake figure. Snake Plisken and MGS2 Ocelot would be awesome too!

Ive noticed that recently. It used to be random, maybe 30% id get hit with custom fees but thats gone up to 100% of the time now. Dont know why

i really have no problem waiting for the UK stockist to receive them

Saying that, don't they come in around the same price or just under the UK RRP anyways. I'd rather wait and know i can send it back to a UK stockist other than having to send a potentially defective figure all the way back to Japan

It is actually against the law to receive goods that tax hasn't been paid on, and it's because ami ami and places like that are coming through customs more and more, essentially putting them on the radar to customs. So anything that goes through customs from ami ami automatically gets taxed, which is rightly so really.
