Congrats! That's pretty much the hardest thing for the achievements, everything else is pretty much manageable from here on out. The MGS1 Snake hold up missions are a pain on PS3 but much easier on 360 and Vita due to the lack of pressure sensitive controls. Extreme mode wasn't a big deal for me either, except the Harrier perhaps.

Seeing you beating that sniper mission makes me wanna give it yet another try, I kinda gave up since I already got the plat for every MGS game but after GZ I kinda have a renewed enthusiasm. Definitely gonna plat MGS2 (again) no matter what! :yess:

Try it man, to be fair it wasn't that hard once I'd been playing the level for about half an hour. The easiest way I found was to start of in the top left and work your way through them until they start filtering off to either side of the map

I'm not upto MGS1 Snake yet. 81% through Tuxedo Snake

I'd had the renewed urge to try and do the sniper mission as I'd yet to ever complete all the VR missions on MGS2

Very fun but kinda easy once you work out then line

I can say that the worst is over for you Frank, MGS1 Snake is a pain but is incredibly satisfying once you beat it.

I'm almost at it now, i have the last 5 levels of Hold Up mode with Tux Snake then all the MGS1 Snake VR missions

I haven't done the boss survivor either yet

I need to sit down and finish off that MGS2 Platinum one of these days. It's the only Plat I don't have for the MGS trophy enabled games.

I could honestly say the Rising plat seems much more daunting to me than MGS2. With the VR Missions, just about 10% of it relies on luck, and the extreme mode is nothing compared to S-ranking Rising on Revengeance difficulty.

I was thinking of getting 100% on GZ but I got bored, give me the VR Missions or Rising any day. :lol

VR 18 on Rising is definitely the single biggest pain in the *** accomplishment I've ever had. Took 100s of retries, literally. It really is a long task to get the skill required and developing fast reaction time with parrying. Getting through it with no damage is next to impossible.

It took me days and I still didn't beat it. I'd say it's up par with Snake's Grenade Level 5 or Variety Level 4 where a bit of luck is needed to beat them.

Btw, I don't know if it's just me, but I always have to mute the music if I'm grinding a same level over and over again, it kinda helps me focus. Too bad that can't be done with MGS2.

Music never bothered me, just ****ing up over and over and over and over does :lol

The margin for error is so large. The biggest problem in that mission is the Wolf that you fight in the third wave since it's constantly moving. Once you destroy it, it gets easier.

The only music or sounds that annoy me is the opening tone when you start a VR mission

Once you've had to retry multiple times, the intro sound becomes highly annoying

Well, I would say I would probably have permanent brain damage if I hadn't muted the music in the harder challenges in Arkham Asylum, City, MGS4 bike chase etc if I didn't muted the music.

That Variety Level 4- the music was permanently burned into my brain I swore I heard chickens clucking in the song. Whaddaya know, I DO have brain damage after all. :slap :lol

I need to play the torture of those VR missions :rotfl. It's a deep shame on my part, but I've never completed all of them.

Never? How far have you ever went with the missions anyway?

I remember completing the VR Missons in MGS1 and I got a teaser of Metal Gear RAY, and I got 100% in Ghost Babel and it was revealed I was playing as Raiden the whole time! :lol I think there were bonuses on MGA2 as well, but I forgot what they were.

Speaking of MGA2, I kinda wished I still had my PSP, that game was EXCELLENT.

Well, I've tried several of them on and off, but I was always too intimidated and much too lazy to proceed with the challenges. That must have been an annoying revelation about Ghost Babel, though :rotfl.

As for my PSP, it's practically a paperweight now. I haven't used it in years - well, ever since I finished Peace Walker back in 2010.

Think I played a few games like silent hill and god of war (which I still haven't finished).
Was a nice little unit but the vita will end up going the same way.

There are plenty of great games on the PSP, Last game I beaten on the system was Silent Hill Shattered Memories and it was just, wow.

Oh, you can also "Transfar" PW with the PSP and the trophies earned on the PSP will carry over. Great way to kill time say, waiting for the bus.

I dunno man, the Vita is pretty fun so far, and the library isn't bad at all. It really depends if you like gaming on the go. I love that I could play MGS1, 2 and 3 when I'm waiting to pick up mother at the mall, or when I'm in line in the bank, DMV etc.

I was at the post office playing the Vita and a 40 something year old due went to me and said "Is that Metal Gear 3? WOW!" The guy told me he left gaming since he got married, and he had no idea portable systems could run one of his favorite games. He was just in awe. :lol

If they make a vita only MGS game I'd buy it on that alone as long as it's not that acid crap.
Man I played all of ten seconds of that game and threw it into the never again pile.
