I used to not hold MGS2 in high regards, for me it's a game that gets better with age and the more you play it.

I did trophy runs for MGS2 3 & 4 last year and out of the 3 I enjoyed MGS2 the most.

Being the only person stupid enough to plat the game twice, I would say the Platinum run for MGS2 is extremely rewarding. Nothing is more satisfying than having a 100% VR completion and beating the game in Extreme mode.

I was OBSESSED with MGS4 way back, especially during its' first 3 years but it's easily the worst MGS game and barely holds up today at all. It's clear that Kojima was under pressure and didn't had it in him while making the game.

I think Peace Walker might be considered worse honestly, when you look at it. Gameplay...maybe not (since MGS4 has too many non-stealth sequences for my liking) but MGS 4 doesn't hold up at all, and honestly, I don't think it deserved perfect scores at all.

I think MGS4 holds pretty well gameplay-wise, it has easily the most sophisticated, versatile and complex mechanics of the franchise, and all of them come into play into the game or work to make the gameplay deeper, even more so than Ground Zeroes.

Gameplay-wise it's the best of the franchise.

I thought Metal Gear Solid 2 was the greatest game I ever played upon release. It was my favorite story in fiction! However, my favorite game on the PS2 was Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. Everyone was playing it, and it didn't hurt that my friends and I were skateboarders! I just thought it was so darn cool that you got to play as the Eyeball Neversoft guy. Although, for some reason I would always choose Bucky Lasek.

Actually, until I re-visited the MGS games in hype for MGS4, my favorite PS2 games were:

1. Metal Gear Solid 3
2. Tony Hawk 3
3. Tekken 5
4. Prince of Persia the Sands of Time
5. Tony Hawk 4
6. Resident Evil 4
7. God of War (The story put it over 2)
8. God of War 2
9. Metal Gear Solid 2
10. Ico

On the PSOne, I think my favorite games were:

1. Tony Hawk 2
2. Tekken 3
3. Crash Team Racing
4. Metal Gear Solid

Prince of Persia was really the game that got me into playing single player games, since gaming was more of a thing to do with friends. I'm a sucker for romance, I guess! Then when I played MGS3.....it changed me! MGS3 is not just my favorite video game, but one of my favorite "things" in life. It's definitely flawed, but oh man, do I love it! Although, I actually played Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops more than it. That was the first game that I was ever addicted to.

I love all the MGS games, which I think I've shown repeatedly on the board. While I can list a bunch of flaws in them, I still consider MGS2, MGS3, and MGS4 to be "10's." The rest of the games, I still give an 8-9. I value something that I can find 100 things to like and dislike 10 aspects, versus something that I can only name 5 likes and dislike 2 aspects.

Might as well list my favorite PS3 games:

1. Metal Gear Solid 4
2. Rock Band
3. Dark Souls
4. Demon's Souls
5. Uncharted 2
6. Batman Arkham Asylum

I've never got a chance to play the Dark Souls games, isn't the studio that made making Bloodborne? I think I'm going to buy that.

My top PS3 games in order :

Metal Gear Solid 4

Red Dead Redemption

Uncharted 2

The Last of Us

Mass Effect Trilogy (beat them on Xbox though)

Batman Arkham City

God of War 3

I remember my first exposure to metal gear was buying it off a guy at school who kept recommending it, I thought it sounded like a racing game. I was blown away it had 2 discs [emoji38]

@Gaspar I'm sorry, I didn't see your comment! I actually liked that Solid Snake lived. Unlike some, I didn't see it as a detriment that he's going to go on a to face some pretty nasty stuff going on. That's really courageous. There was a month last year where I took a month off of Sideshow because of my Grandma's death. For years, she had brain cancer and it was pretty horrendous. Her legs would buckle if she tried to walk, she lost use of her faculties, she lost her memory, had terrible night terrors, and would go through instances of wailing in pain. However, she never gave up on anyone or her faith throughout the entire ordeal! There's nothing pathetic about that!

I take 20 different medications and have a 5 hour daily medical procedure to keep me going, so I can kind of relate with Snake's degradation. I was was in the hospital and needed people to push me in a wheel chair when I was a teenager, and MGS4 kind of helped me through that. MGS4 was so embedded into my subconscious that I yelled "SNAAAAAAAAAAAAKEE" when I went under for surgery. I didn't do it on purpose! I was so embarrassed when I was told what I said! :)

I actually have read a whole lot of Superman, but got rid of the majority of it. All I really have left is my Alan Moore, Jeph Loeb, Death of Superman, and Justice League stuff! I hope what I said didn't offend you.

@Pturtle That's an awesome list! All those games are great! Red Dead is so beautiful! My only nitpick was that John kind of controlled like a car, so that led to some hilarious comedic moments getting trapped in stairs!

Don't worry about it, speak your mind.

That's odd, did you do most of your comicbook reading in the 90's? If that's the case I can see why you'd think Superman is one dimensional, everybody was one dimensional in the 90's :lol But there are plenty of stories that showcase Superman's true personality.
