The likenesses on Cruz's Superman and Wonder Woman repaints aren't there like Batman. They're amazing, and you can see enough of the actor in them, but it's not the same level.

So I don't think face scans are just a magic bullet where you can say "nothing can beat this" in every situation. Maybe it's only having to do his lower face, or maybe it's something about Ben Affleck's face shape that just works well with the method.

Given that even Neca came up with a solid one, I'm inclined to think Ben Affleck's jaw is just relatively easy to sculpt.

This isn't favoritism or loyalty to any company. I'm just saying, some of these companies have superior sculpts under their plain, sloppy, $10 retail paint jobs.
NECA is really a treasure when it comes to sculpting, you can tell their sculptors more often than not, completely nail the sculpts, but their work is undermined by molding and mass paintjobs.

Level headed? What does that mean?:p nope never trolling I'm dead passionate about figures and always curious to read other people opinions even when I strongly disagree ;)

Level headed = reasonable.

Is English not your first language? I don't mean any offense by it, it's not my first language either.

Thanks ahaha :p yep you called it, it's not my first language ;)

See, I think NECA's Affleck is absolutely terrible and the worst of all the Affleck Batman heads available (save for maybe Mattel's).

It's atrocious and looks rushed (see the crooked chest bat symbol on his chest too). Compare it to their great Keaton and Bale cowls and actor likenesses and something went horribly, horribly wrong.

Another really good, underrated Affleck is the DC Collectibles 12" statue. One that I'd say rivals Hot Toys' efforts. It's profile is dead on whereas Hot Toys doesn't even look human (see their Robocop where the profile is botched because they didn't take into account enough space for his nose). I saw it at GameStop and was blown away.

They even got the asymmetry of the eyes right (since the cowl was slightly crooked on Affleck's face).

Back to Hot Toys and Jakks, again, it's not even a contest. Look at how symmetrical the Hot Toys one is.

A person's face isn't that symmetrical. The Jakks kills it, from the eye spacing, to the length of the face, to the mouth.

Almost every Hot Toys figure has the same "look". When you look at a Hot Toys figure, no matter the character, you know it's a Hot Toys product from those well painted albeit dead looking eyes, the ugly, dark "Caucasian" skin, etc. Their Batmen are the same way. The left and right side of their Affleck Batman is perfectly symmetrical which is the case for most of their figures. People confuse the great mass produced paint and skin texture (some would say overly textured) for accuracy and likeness. This was the case for their Obi-Wan Kenobi, which looks nothing like Alec Guinness.

Not saying their Batman doesn't look like Affleck. It does. It's just no where near some of the other sculpts out there.

It's a case of major Uncanny Valley :lol maybe because HT has approached a pretty remarkable level of realism? Aside from the likeness.

But yeah, I love when toys capture even the flaws of the costumes/designs they try to represent, HT seems to fix some of these flaws.

Again... I strongly disagree. NECA is garbage. I hate their sculpts and The paint apps are horrible (not Talking about their 1/4 figures which are OK). Hot Toys are The best for me whether it's sculpt or paint app, they nail it everytime and I Will always support them. Mezco are also great and growing on me. The obi-wan figure is awesome, best likeness to Alec Guiness.

What are you strongly disagreeing with? :lol I said the NECA one is awful. Are you reading the posts or just looking at the pics?

So...Jakks head on Neca body = ultimate Batfleck? Anyone tried it? Same scale and all.

Personally I'm ok with Neca. Some days it looks pretty good. I just pretend it's Batman after a trip to the dentist (puffy head).

Did they scan Affleck for the armored Jakks version too? Thinking of picking up that one since there isn't another in that scale.

With a couple mods and repaint you can make the NECA Affleck pretty good.

I remember someone on here tried that a while back and it looked superb. I think it was in the Jakks thread if you go back far enough.

I'd like to see a pic. I haven't seen any reviews with that issue.

the lumpy trap? almost all the reviews i have seen figure has issue but rarely does the reviewer notice. will get camera for pic, it looks horrible really. can futz around it but the issue is still there.

fun fig to pose tho got it to do dynamic stuff i didnt want to try with HT so works for that but museum pose hiding that lump is a challenge

Received the Mezco One:12 Shadowland Daredevil, and got to say I'm really impressed about the fabrics they used on his costume.
I wonder why Hot Toys didn't use the same kind of material on Deadpool.. The feel of the DD costume is great and it doesn't look like it's going to sustain the folds if you expose the figure on a dynamic pose for too long.

It's not Mezco's best 1/12 figure, but it goes along perfect with the rest of the line, love it!

the mez reg bVS bats is better inhand than the HT's, there i said it. been wanting to for days but the hype is real its INCREDIBLE. :clap :lecture

if you had the mouth plates repainted on the mez bats it would be perfection. you know those modded HT bats you see where they puff it up with cotton under suit to get more accurate screen look? well the mez comes out of box like that. exact to screen look i think way more so that the un-modded HT.

if you take time to futz and get cape and pose right this looks better than HT ver really. and thats sayin alot the HT is my fav 1/6.

fixed the lumpy trap with boiling and then cold water, just pressed it down while hot then q-tip with cold water to hold.
