You're just being cynical. . .those designs were obviously chosen because they will better ensure that more toys are sold.

They have probably the most popular cartoon on tv right now. The toys were always going to sell. And these being a different version were going to sell. They would have had a different look to the Nick show. So between kids wanting the movie version and adult collectors they would have sold. Outside of Leo these designs are horrible. Just like with the movie version of Transformers, the design is overly complicated, when simple would have worked. They look like the parts of a toy line you do once you have done the normal looking figures. Like when Kenner would do Inferno Batman, and he would be bright red and orange instead of his normal colors.

Have you ever tried to pick up an old big turtle? I have, they're heavy, so imagine a turtle the size of an adult man, right from the start the idea of ninja turtles seems a little bit unlikely..... Good thing we don't have to use real world logic with the likes of franchises like these, so it makes no difference what accessories they're carrying with them, the designs of the turtles will most likely be the least of people's concerns, in fact, many people like them, myself included.

And as far as using the "in your face" designs to portray each turtle's personality, that's bull, you simply don't know that yet, just from the teaser I could see Mikey and Leo had very different personalities.

Man the thing that made the first movie designs so great is that it felt like they could exist. They looked real as hell to me as a kid. They didnt look like the cartoon but it didnt matter they felt real. Maybe the kids will eat this up like we did as kids. Im sure grown ups thought the animatronic men in suits looked stupid to

They did a great job, just in body language of that one scene of showing their distinct personalities. I love the little bit at the end where Mikey is looking past April at Leo behind here as reassurance after taking off his mask.

I remember my dad and uncle being a little cynical about the suits. But being 8 and watching it... they WERE real to me. I'm sure my little guy will have that same feeling, growing up now on the Nick Toon and seeing this movie.

I'm just hoping the FX get stronger by the 3rd outing of this franchise instead of worse... less said about the suits in TMNT III the better. Even as a kid I knew they were crap. Especially Splinter.

Disagree. I was 17 when the movie came out and was amazed at how good they looked. I look on that now, at 40, and then look at this, and I'm still impressed with, as I said before, how the creature effects from a movie almost 25 years old can still kick the *** of a movie coming out this year.

The Nickelodeon TMNT toy line is the #1 selling action figure in America at the moment. I sell them on my evilbay account and i cant keep the new ones stocked, and i sell a majority of them over seas .

So Bay got his hands on the Transformers cash and now the TMNT cash. What toy line is next?!

Well let's see there's thundercats, heman, bionicle. He seems to detest 80 cartoons so suppose all those shows are in jeopardy .
