What a difference it makes..From a turtle to a snake.

Damn. They could have looked pretty rad. :(

the photoshopped version looks a lot better but the problem is that it looks too cartoonish and ends up looking like Scooby Doo or Garfield.

not to play devil's advocate or anything but the ugly Nostril version does look more realistic in the sense that they don't look so fake next to Megan Fox.

The photoshop version would make it look like when they did the smurfs or Alvin and the chipmunks and it looks really fake

:goodpost:

I really don't mind their faces. Looks 'realistic' since, as has been mentioned before... they look like humanoid turtle faces. Both humans and turtles have nostrils. And since the CG needs to be hyper-realistic to fit in to the real world, it makes sense.

I'm with you. I don't mind the nostrils because turtles do indeed have them. Perhaps it's just the angle or the way they framed Mikey's face but they don't look so good on him. Leo looks much better on the other hand so it's not a complete loss to me.

Leo does look the best and that very well may be by design. Anyone who has seen any sort of 'behind the scenes' footage should know that they would have gone through HUNDREDS of designs in order to settle on these ones. Mikey, being the 'personality' and all, may have been intentionally made a little...uglier on purpose. Nothing with character design is by accident.

The problem with Mikey is that his face is too flat. It needed to come out more in the nose and mouth area.

Right now it looks like some kind of weird worm, His face should have had some kind of snout like shape. That's what is freaking me out the most

Yup. I can see what you're saying.

I'm wondering in order to keep with the personalities, they purposefully designed Mikey to look the most "human" and "child-like". Something similar was done with the Scar Predator in AVP in order to make him appeal as the "hero" Predator. They actually made his eyes more visible than previous Predators.

Unfortunately it doesn't translate too well in these shots.

I do like the photo manipulations but with the route this movie is taking, they look kind of clown-like. Almost a huge bulbous nose. I prefer the realism of the nostrils and so far it works effectively on Leonardo most of all. He's my favorite turtle anyways.

Kind of funny how the focus is away from what they are wearing to their noses now. :lol
