I'd be in for a Dark Knight Returns based story, although without Superman. It couldn't do worse than TDKR.

And if Burton is directing, we'll actually get Gotham and not Chicago.

:exactly:

Y'know, it could happen since Keaton said he's doing the Beetlejuice sequel with Burton. The real problem is DC is busy with their cinematic universe. :slap

Keep in mind that it wouldn't be classic Batman 89/Beetlejuice Burton. It'd be the all CG 3D Alice in Wonderland Burton making Gotham City. I'm not saying that'd be a horrible thing but Burton, like many other directors, has changed over the decades.

Interesting he said that for him, Batman was about Bruce and not Batman. Considering he was a fairly weak Bruce Wayne but great Batman

That being said a Burton Batman now wouldn't be anything like anyone is thinking, even if it was going the route of Millers TDKR (which i don't think Burton would pull off very well anyway)

Keeton wouldn't make a good Miler Batman at all

Gothic Batman & Gotham can never return as previously stated, and Burton would rather cast Depp as Batman anyway >_>

Adam West was willing too, but neither are going to happen. Perhaps MK should have thought a little harder about being typecast as Batman before turning down the third movie, now he wishes he could get typecast.

That ship sailed a long time ago.

Wha..

I thought he only turned down the 3rd one because Burton wasn't directing.. :huh

People are blowing this out of proportion.

It was a hypothetical question thrown at him during an interview. "Would you do Batman again?" All he said was "yeah, sure, if Burton was directing". That's it. He was being factitious. The guy doesn't need or care about Batman really. He's gone on to say that it was just a role for him and that while he's fond of his time in the role, he's since moved on.

There will never be another Keaton Batman film, ever. It'd be inappropriate and pointless. The closest we'll get to that collaboration is the sequel to Beetlejuice which is slowly coming into fruition.

Yup, Bale also said he would do another Batman film if Nolan directed it, we should make a thread about that too.

That birdman flick he has coming out looks pretty hilarious.

I'm seeing that tonight. It's been getting fantastic reviews and there's been oscar buzz about a nomination for Keaton. I didn't think much of it at first until I saw the first trailer. Gonna check it out.
