I'm not sure the hunting gear is more interesting just because it has contrast. The black vest in the hunting gear is actually different then the suit one. The suit isn't just plain jane black cotton. It's charcoal and the speckled wool texture of the suit can be very visually appealing with the contrast of the brown hat and boots.

IDK I just see the Black wool suit more iconic for a few reasons, the most basic reason being it got more screen time. He did wear the jacket from the hunting outfit several times but with different shirt, pants, etc. And if he was planning on doing the pipe as an accessory, that wouldn't match the hunting scene.

That's true about the neck. The sculpt would look better with it sculpted since he doesn't need an open chest like Bill and The Dude and it solves the skin tone clash. But it does take away from some articulation that Painview calls for.

OIL!
Oil slick Plainview would have been the most interesting and would have given the non removable hatted figures a rest.

However, it is coming with a non hatted sculpt and it was announced that Quail Hunt has been confirmed. The pipe is in his jacket pocket during those scenes.

Bowling Pin and Cardigan is the most Iconic because its the Drink your Milkshake scene, and that ending is EPIC!

Quail Hunt is the least recognizable look of the 3 and will not help the figure stand out as Daniel Plainview in TWBB more than just some guy in a hat with a shotgun.

But it's premature to speculate on the hat sculpt because we haven't seen it yet, so two things can happen; it will either help bring out or take away from that marvelously recognizable DDL sculpt.

Not imo. I think the quail hunt attire is plenty iconic enough. I loved that scene and I think it will make for a better looking figure on the shelf.

The pipe's in his pocket?? :lol

Edit: just caught it. Didn't realize it was visible

Yea the outfit is alright but it doesn't define the character well. That feels like quail hunter/camper Plainview, not greed personified, oil tycoon Plainview.
If that's what everyone is set on and it's locked in then IDK. I don't think I'd spend oil prices on that. Maybe quail prices

I thought he wore it more throughout the movie than the hunting suit. I may be missing one but: The first pitch to the villagers, the pitch to the couple, leaving HW on the train, and the F#@*IN' "baptisim" scene!!!

That's what I left out. When he announces breaking ground at the well, then jerks Eli out of blessing it publicly. Then goes on to son Mr. Sunday with silent intimidation about beating his daughter :yess: That Daniel guy's alright in my book

For me this was the beginnings of his greed and lust for wealth and success. He screwed the Sunday family over good and proper!

Some of these choices I think are influenced by how many accessories we can get with it, which is pretty lame but it does drive the price up! Displaying Daniel Plainview in a hunters outfit with a Gun is not going to Ring Bells as the best TWBB reference.

I wonder if Rainman will use actual wools for some of the outfit? Probably too tough a material for 1/6

S__t sorry army :lol you said recently you were gonna watch it. I thought you handled that biz already

I'm pretty sure that his greed and lust was present from the second the movie began. The guy was mining for gold solo and nearly killed himself for Christ sake! :lol

Yea the shotgun pertains to nothing outside of that 5 minute scene. But if you mean that the backpack is an accessory :slap then he's gonna look like a f___in' camper.

Wool itself probably couldn't work 1/6. But if there's something that can resemble it and not be so thick, that would make the suit sick. I wonder if Rainman would consider doing two outfit choices like he did for Tyler v2.

Essentially yes he was, but for me the greed starts when he screws the Sundays over.

I still think his surveying outfit would look awesome on a shelf and would come with his stake, his surveying equipment, and his pistol. It had the coolest jacket and pants out of all his looks.

Yes the surveying attire would certainly be a lovely look but I worried it might clash to much with Bill. I am sure a lot of potential customers for this probably own Bill and so to have them both in brown trench coats would possibly turn a few potential buyers away.

I really like the surveying outfit but I too think it looks a little too similar to Bill. I like the complexity of the hunting clothes purely as an aesthetic choices that really doesn't pertain to character. After reading the posts about the dark suit, I must say my opinion has been swayed some what. Those are all valid justifications. So I'm now in the "don't care" camp. I will say that getting the hatless head, one could probably bash a black suit to go with it, whereas the other outfits are a little more complex and less likely to find.

I am in that camp also. I would buy even in his surveying attire.

This is a must for me no matter what. It is all good :)

So then it's not confirmed that the outfit will be Quail Hunt?

Surveyor Outfit is a much better choice, Charcoal wool suit that he wore with coat watch would be the best.
