i'm curious, woff... you've been wanting plainview for so long, are you still planning on collecting 1/6 once this hits? i vaguely remember you saying somewhere this was the last piece you really wanted... or was that someone else about something else?

It's going to be amazing regardless, but damn their milking that DDL sculpt!

I have Bill in my hand and if you look real close, yes its probably the same head, but there is a ton of changes. The nose, cheeks, mouth and chin are the same, but the rest is completely different. That includes the most important character areas like the eyes, brow, ears, and the entire top of the head
I'm not going to get into an argument, but personally, if it isn't broke down't fix it. Look at HT's Capt. There are four heads and it appears they have started over on almost all of them so none match. WHEN I put Plainview right next to my Bill I want to see the exact same actor playing two very different parts. And that is what we have here.

Love the sculpt. Just wish he had raised eyebrows.
That was me. I'm only keeping a few of my 1/6 pieces. Things like HT Godfather. Selling or sold almost everything else. I'm keeping a few bigger pieces and have stuff on order that I can't cancel because of the NRD. I'll probably buy a few Batman 1/4 scale pieces and maybe an LSF figure or two from Sideshow if they make characters I'm interested in. Outside of that I haven't and don't plan on ordering anything for some time if at all. This is the exception because I know it'll never see the light of day at any scale so it's this or nothing.

I hear you, but Im kind of torn. I like the iconic Popeye/eyebrow raised look of him, but I also really like the squinted looking across the bright hot plains look that we have here. Both are defining character moments.

I kind of feel like, if it isn't broked, don't fix it with this. I understand it's basically the bill sculpt with mods but does it really matter if it's the same sculpt? I mean it's dead on DDL as Plainview so for me it doesn't really matter, but that's me.

i need that kind of willpower. finding it harder and harder to draw the line because everything looks so good. i hope i can resist the lure of the 1/4 scale stuff but it's hard enough saying no to sideshow's new DC PF's. and some of their LSF are stupidly tempting. digging that grim reaper statue especially. maybe i need a wife to nag the ____ out of me for spending. hmmm....
In all honesty the Bill sculpt is just a modded Plainview sculpt.

thanks for 411. damn, i had hoped for a hatless sculpt to do an oil covered plainview, but its not meant to be!
I think the sculpts are significantly different. On Bill, his cap, stache and sideburns cover everything up. Now he has hair, ears, a forehead and the stache and eyebrows are different. Any other similarities are cause it's still DD 
. And it would be much better with a neck.
I'm more surprised with the outfit choice. You guys really fell like the Quail get up is a better look than his charcoal wool suit? I thought he wore it more throughout the movie than the hunting suit. I may be missing one but: The first pitch to the villagers, the pitch to the couple, leaving HW on the train, and the F#@*IN' "baptisim" scene!!!
The two pens, and the timepiece chain? BONKERS
And in keeping with Woffard's post on symbolism and metaphors, you can easily say that the color of the suit is symbolic of that good ol' liquid gold.

Personally I think the hunting outfit would be a more visually interesting look.

Yes I agree, and I am sure that was a consideration when Rainman decided to go with the quail hunt attire.
We'll get the vest, shirt and tie with the quail hunt outfit. Just bash a pair of charcoal pants and you've got the baptism scene. Find some pants and a jacket and you've got the sales pitch scene. The vest watch chains and pens would be the trick part.
