Also appears to show that it is indeed the cape and the positioning of the body's chest playing a large part in the bulk. The 'backpack' ver looks slender here, whereas the caped ver not so much.

Still cannot wait to get this on my shelf. More excited for it than the DX Joker.

It's cape plus lighting. Notice the backpack one also has all the details of his abdomen lit and showing. Size of the cape is irrelvant, even if thinner, it's that in poor lighting, you can't tell what's the edge of Batman and where the cape takes over, like in that picture, you can't see where his side ends on the left of his body and where the cap starts.

No higher resolution?...

Sadly, as nice as TR's photos are, his blog postings are always very tiny.

Yeah, if you want the Dark Knight from Hot Toys early, you've got eBay dealers and Toys2 basically for options, BBTS and DCD get it months later, I think other stores like BBTS that have them also get from the DCD shipments, but I'm not 100% on that, BBTS and Toys2 are the only shops I deal with outside of Sideshow.

I also think in that pic, the raised arms are making the chest ride up and out a bit making it stick out and making him look bulkier.

Me, too. I skipped on the first "Dark Knight" release because he just looked a bit off to me. Though I can't put my finger on it, this guy just looks better.

Is that Rismo's repaint? love that first pic but whats up with the 4th pic that the cape somehow looks Superman short...

Was this repaint batch with your Medicom head? I always felt Hot Toys looked too pale. Ghostly even.

no it's not the rismo-repaint, I'm still waiting for it

i put the takara-begins mouth-piece on the hot toys dk cowl and it really improves the cowl. still have to do some fine mods but, as for now it looks so

and yeah the cape looks horrible short i messed up the buddy-lee cape with some clips so i had to push more material in the holes. but have purchased a lou-cape, so this will be changed soon.

and yes, the mouth-piece of HT V1 is really odd, so i decided to change it. with the new mouth-piece now, the figure catches again my attention

Anyways it looks a hell of alot better with the takara mouth in there so props to you!

You could maybe even try to sand the lines of the cowl?

Nice job then, Thrust. It looks like it has more life to it. The Takara always had a nice face. Strange I never even picked up on the Takara part.
