Yeah, it's odd. Plus the direction the light is coming from makes the white background kind of bleed onto certain things. My camera really sucks, man.

Indeed, it's not the camera though. Bright lights will play tricks on this cowl something rotten.

Is it just me or is solidsnake very emotional?

HEy guys I am on the edge with buying a DX02 Batman but saw the peeling on that batman suit ehhhhh.....I need some assurance guys what do you think about this? do you think it was pobably one bad lemon or does anyone else have any issues. Thanks for the reply!

MAnnnnnn! oh no the peeling arghhhhh! do you think this will happen with other DX02 Batmen figs??? or was it just a bad lemon in a batch? your input?

I'm going to say it was a combination of bad luck and the guy probably trying some extreme poses or rubbing his hands on it as hard as he could for no reason whatsoever. I don't even see how it could happen on mine otherwise.

Was wondering what cape did you use on the DX? is it the ifrigno cape?

looks kinda purpleish suede to me. Like how it looks like during the interrogation scene!

Nah man, it's my own custom cape. I made 3-4 for the various Batmen I have. It's a velvet-like material I found at JoAnn Fabrics & Crafts. It's got the flocked finish on the outside and a matte finish on the interior. It's very similar to the material they used for the capes in Batman Begins and TDK. It's actually a pretty deep black, but it looks lighter in pictures. Here's a couple pics of the one I made for my OC Bats.

Does anyone find it a bit weird that Hot Toys decided to leave the cowl on the DX02 Batman textured?.

Anything's possible, I'll let you know if I do. I hate commissioning anything because the second something goes from a hobby to anything resembling work, I turn into an incredible procrastinator.

Yeah, that's the original one. It's not as bad as the original OC or TDK Bats' cape, but it bunches up at the bottom and billows out in an odd way. And I'm incredibly OCD when it comes to symmetry and such in my figures, especially after I've popped my Ambien, so an oddly-hanging cape is basically Kryptonite.

Oh well, I guess I'll just get my DX first and see if I'd be needing any custom capes.

I never really liked customizing my figure, and would like it to be fresh out of the box condition, but the more I look at pics here, the more contemplating I get.

I guess without the texture it looks to much like plastic

I think making the cowl non-textured,smooth matte rubber with a hard plastic inner shell would have made this figure more realistic looking, you would have better contrast between the black paint on the skin around the eyes with the duller black rubber of the cowl, like we see in the movie.
