See what this mess has turned into, because of their impatience rushing cutting corners to get it out before Christmas all it's done is delayed it to the date it was originally listed between late January or late February. If they never botched this up from the beginning in time it would have been a success in a month or two rather than getting bad PR at the moment.
When will companies ever learn rushing/cutting corners = bad things happen and anger.
I'm still really glad mine has not been shipped even though it's from a HK dealer. It's just a shame I've been ponied up for this mess if it does delay to a month or two? but thats not the shops fault. Thanks to Hot Toys notifying them it was coming in and this botched up mishap takes place. I honestly have no idea the time frame though when it'll be legitimately fixed.
That though is a complete gamble. No trust.
Im pretty sure this is NOT from second Batch...Hot toys may take 2 moths or so for releasing a second batch and fix all issues (anyone remember John connor head??) .
Is absolutely impossible to manufacture new Batman DX figures and fix all issues in a few days.
what I mean, is that HK eBay sellers are inspecting and checking all the figures, and selling those that are visibly in good condition...thatsimple

Anyway, my Batman DX is from the first wave and purchased the same released day..and is 100% perfect: perfect Asymetry on heads, not tilt on sonar head, not paint peeling, not black paint spots...
That though is a complete gamble. No trust.

I have inspected the body suit and i have to say that the rubber suit looks very fragile. I think that Hot Toys tried to make a new more acurate body suit but the rubber suit was very very thin compared with the v1 dark knight figure.
I think that in proportions the new suist is far better and the rubber looks more acurate thant the v1 suit. But i think that rubber of the v1 suit will be in best condition in the next years.
The new suit went to the limit of the material to look better but i prefer the material of the first dk figure.

I hate to see how this suit will turn out in 4 - 6 months as well as for those who live in damp, dry, humid or sandy/dusty atmospheres.
Then there is the thought people will be scared to touch their figures as a lot of people that keep calling these toys that are so insanely delicate now. ¬_¬

I would actually assume that while the first batch to HK was released they were already working on the second batch for overseas and now that they had issue with the first batch they simply took part of the second batch to help with the HK release. Also I am sure this first "batch" was split into individual batches as well to allow traceability. In our production environment every shift represents a new batch as not just different components but different operators represents a new point of failure!
Valvoliner, please take some good pictures of yours and show them here and help balance the situation, it would certainly help some ppl who are still open minded to put their minds at ease
Thing is:
- whoever pressured production obviously did not anticipate this, o/w this would not have happened in the first place, nobody is that stupid (remember this for the end of this passage)
- rushing and cutting corners is really not the same thing. You can rush a job by adding shifts, increasing hours, increase target with incentives but in all that the critical point is that there has to be an objective QC to qualify the increase to prevent cutting corners.
- QC is really the safety guard and is what has failed cause if it had worked this would have been caught on time. I just wonder if QC is as finicky as a real collector and then even if he is what would really piss me off is if someone above him saw the report but decided to override it anyways. That's the person that should really get canned. Not sure how many realize but QC has always been the most difficult part to implement in Asian manufacturing. Only solution until today is for the company to actually send their own QC team over to inspect every production and shipment especially when you outsource. The best solution is to have that person be relocated there.
- be at least honest to yourself.. look at the T2 thread to refresh your memory... can you honestly say that noone is giving HT pressure to push out their figures as soon as humanly possible? Every page has someone screaming for it to come out yesterday and same was for the DX01 and DX02 thread and neither you nor I have been an exception. I don't think anyone here actually ever said "oh hold on lets not rush HT, please take your time be it 6 or 10months as I prefer quality over speed" until this mishap of cause. Yes you may have assumed that you meant rushing without sacrifices in quality but I am sure whoever was actually rushing this order meant it as well (see above now)

I agree, the urgency implied by the customers caused a bit of the rush; but there has to be a desire by the company to ensure that their product is of high quality, especially for the price demanded.

The new Batman is the best figure i have in my entire collection. Fantastic accesories, amazing details.
Maybe he had some faults with the rubber of the suit but it is the best figure i saw in my life.

Finally unboxed mine, no issues with the suit peeling and the sonar head isn't too bad. Just gotta attach that horrible cape now

I love the utility belts with magnets and the side holster for the 'Bat gun'. I have all the weapons attached and the figure is simply amazing. I absolutely love the Dx line, the two figures thus far are really well done IMO.

Considering how small it has to be at actual scale because of how small it looks at full scale, to me it's just something boudn to happen in mass production of an item like this, I wouldn't fuss over that, but it's really up to you what is or isn't acceptable for your purchase.

Yes, i can accepted if in the future it will not peel my figure from that point.
Maybe i am a little paranoid with all the pictures that we saw from the HK buyers and right now we can´t stop searching for problems in our suits.

well you should inspect it to detail for sure. In a way if HT sends out replacements for the Sonars that are corrected I would actually prefer to do that cause I would want an extra cowl with removed mouth and eyes for display

I would imagine the level of destroyed that HT wants the defective head to be would not allow you to do this.

How do you break a head it'll be tricky. Shipping wasn't that much for my Connor head (a couple of pounds) I think it'd be easier to send it.
What level do Hot Toys consider broken? Several pieces or melted down and made into a plastic carrier back?

Yeah I didn't think that through yet I doubt I would be in that position by the time I get mine Besides I will be selling my two extra heads as I ordered 2 of these. For you Arnie is the ultimate.. for me it's TDK Batman Lucky for me there really are only two versions now ... for now

Knives, flames, I would imagine anything that destorys it to the point where it is no longer useful, when companies say destroy it and just take a new one, the idea is that it be destroyed beyond viability as a second one so you only end up with one, otherwise people would mildly destory it, maybe even in a repairable way and end up using it to get 2 when they only paid for one item.
