Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I hate taking pictures without natural light, but so far.....I think I have gotten away lightly. Perhaps minor, minor warping onthe sonar head, but no matter to me. The leneses are good, the 'main' head is fine and so far, no peeling.

Only gripe is very weak ankles again, but BOY is he slim!!!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

My Batman Dx after so much inspections and taked out of the box in many times he doesn´t show any peeling problems:

P1030173xxx.jpg

P1030169xxx.jpg

P1030190xxx.jpg

Is mint and perfect.

Hope it helps for the people who is a little worried.

Maybe is because Batman prefer the Spanish weather for his rubber suit than the Hong Kong humidity?.

Is rest of plastic. Is not a peeling.

Kapital, would you mind re-examining the plastic under the belt, seems it's something wrong. Mine is not like that.....Also, the middle slanted back upper part is also little bit worrying, maybe slant will be worsen over times.

May i know whether or not the normal head is ok at the beginning and the little spot comes afterwards?

I still wonder what they are doing painting rubber. There are ways to process rubber so it stays shiny even with wear. As it doesn't have a coating.

Painting rubber is a recipe for disaster since it bends. Which leads to stripping down to layers.

Hmm I am pretty sure people have been saying the opposite that after peeling the underlying rubber exposed is more shiny?!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

It is. The paint they applied over the rubber is what gives it a matte finish. Under the paint is really shiny, it matches the mesh that is "under" the armor plates.

Here is where the peeling is at issue; this has been an issue for others - people have had peeling on the back in this exact area.

Everyone should check in these areas - I suggest having it replaced - the peeling area may spread.

Agreed to have it replaced no matter how many times. don't think it's picky.

Here we go - that's where the peeling is happening - have NO CLUE why the picture wouldn't post.

Isn't that a bit of the plastic covering the belt that has ripped or frayed at the edge making it look like the suit is peeling at the edge.

We've been over this a few page back for anyone not in the know ;). I felt like I had Deja Vu for a second there.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Yeah, I don't think any analysis of figure integrity should be based on that shot, at least for anything around the belt area, with that plastic protector still on, some of what you're seeing is that and not the figure itself.

If you save down the picture and zoom in, you will see that it is peeled plastic...trust me.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Hi Kapital, would you pls clarify?

If it is not the figure itself, i wonder what it is..........

It just reminds me a fan in HK forum discover a glove inside the DX Joker...At first i suspect these pics but this fan have long history in toy world forum......we make fun of him to say hope he can get a michael jackson glove next time

This is fortunate that this glove did not appear in the DX batman outbreak =)

MF, don't worry w r not trying to damage the HT brand name, but if photo cannot establish figure integrity, what else can?

I'm talking about that there's a piece of protective plastic in that shot with bits popping out here and there from under the belt. I'm just saying, what is the figure and what is that protective bit is questionable versus a shot of the figure without that protective bit in place.

I support HT actually and i have pre-ordered T800 =)

The more i support the more i criticize -D

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I criticize them too, I feel like you just don't understand any of my points I bring up in here, but not the end of the world :duff

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

MF, it's not the clear plastic - I checked twice - the plastic is black and dog-eared; the clear plastic is far away from this area and is not coming out from under the belt - as I said, zoom in and see for yourself.

This has happened on more than one occasion. I think you all need to understand that these are rampant problems with the first batch - they (HT) have said so themselves. This is like the Pinto with Ford - they need to fix the problems, which I believe they are, or else this will be way more expensive down the way.

I'm not attacking HT, I just want people to see that the problems are still there. And yes, the plastic is crap and for $200 nobody should be keeping a sub-par figure.

Also, I think you should be able to rub, scratch, handle and throw the figure around without paint coming off (at least under reasonable manner). If you're too scared to do that, then the figure IS NOT worth $200. Moreover, my mother has dolls over 50 years old that you can handle and the paint doesn't come off - why should THESE collectibles be any different? If you want to defend a sub-par figure then go ahead, but nobody in their right mind will make the excuse that a figure should have paint coming off where a HASBRO toy would have its paint WAY MORE resilient to wear and tear.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

This is Kapital's figure so him taking the belt off and taking another image, or just saying, will clear that all up...

I don't think anyone has said the warped heads and pealing paint isn't a problem. Which is being fixed. And that will show up in the next batch.

It's other, minor (random) things that people are blowing out of proportion.

Hasbro's figures are molded in color, so there's not much paint on the things...

That may be so; however, the product that is being produced is coming out shotty - the paint is too sensitive to being held and that is a MAJOR problem; if you can't hold the figure, why have it?

And I don't think it matters about the belt being on and off - the paint is peeling, plain and simple - if anyone takes the time to look closely at the image (zoom in) you will see it is not clear plastic that is giving the illusion of peeling, IT ACTUALLY IS PEELING. I don't see why there is such a dispute over this image (once again, ignoring that this has been an issue in posts prior).

Yes, HT is fixing the peeling (I guess) and the deformed heads, but dents in the heads or chips off the shoulders, etc. are also issues that should be resolved. I don't mean that the figure should be perfect but it should be reasonably solid all around.
