Comparison with Medicom. In my opinion Hot toys win! more accurate more realistic.

Holy! Now the Medicom looks overly buff! Christ the HT version 1 must look like the Incredible Hulk. Going to check that for myself today.

DX bats is a fantastic figure, I love having the extra gear which I will transfer to a version 1. My DX will go in the Interrogation room diorama when I get that. Q2 of this year so says BBTS. Can't wait, hope it doesn't get delayed any more.

For me the only thing sorta wrong about this DX is the PERS eyes being too wide open but then again a more open eye better shows off the moving eyes feature so I guess its acceptable.

With this guy coming, I can now feel comfortable posing my V1 in some more extreme-type poses for some photos I want to take and then manipulate with photoshop.

Hopefully, I can get some good results and I will share them. Basically, I want to do some composite shots with the figure and some artwork from some comics.

With this guy coming, I can now feel comfortable posing my V1 in some more extreme-type poses for some photos I want to take and then manipulate with photoshop.

Hot Toy's DX Batman is clearly much more accurate.

There are things I like about the Medi version though. He is a bit more... stylized I guess. Which is usually the case with Medicom. The medi's face looks a little wierd... maybe eyes to close together...

I like the chest on the medi version much better than the Hot Toys V1. The medi chest is big, but in a cool way, whereas the V1 chest just looks bloated!

But for me, if I have to pick one (I don't have a bats yet) the obvious choice is the DX!!! FTW!

Heads are fine, paint's fine, oil free. Belt was on briefly for a these shots and now it's back off.

Great looking figure, much improved over the original figure, as if that even needs to be said anymore. Though, I can't help wondering, would it have been better in the end to have constructed the suit all out of rubber like the v1, this suit appears to have a combination of rubber and bits glued onto the rubber. It adds depth to the armor, and maybe the construction has nothing to do with the issues that have been found with this figure, but where they didn't happen on the v1 figure, can't help thinking the different construction could be a factor.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned here that I found kind of strange is that the belt connectors aren't teh same. The DX belt with gear on it is the same as the v1 but for color, but the plain belt with the DX just has one position to snap the belt close with at the back and no hook for the grapple gun. No biggy, just wonder why they didn't mold 2 of the new belt and add the packs onto one, since you don't need the back holster for the grapple gun anymore with the side holster attachment now.

Finally I got the shipping notification for my replacements. Until they arrive, I have only this hybrid Bats I created.

It's a v1 suit on a Slim TrueType + DX chest armor. It reminds me to prototype pics.

I think they didn't want to model a new mold for the accessorized one and went the lazy route.
update on oil:
now had the figures beltless for a while and still a bit of residue showing!!! hopefully this is just leftover I recommend to leave the batboy beltless for the time being!

TO be honest - i'd still rather have the new improved construction with some oil issue, rather than a full rubber v1 style suit - i HATED that suit

That's why I ordered one from Toys2, and one from DCBS. I'll at least have the one from Toys2 to hold me over.
