Acquiring foam latex to use for a mod like this would definitely help in keeping the articulation intact. Or a stiffer type of cloth that could wrap around the back? I think all it would require is to cut out pieces and glue them on top of the respective areas of the DX neck and have those pieces flare out in the back. The DX neck is thin, so that might actually help when it comes to attempting this sort of mod. I think it was 'Tin' from the Toy World boards that tried to wrap cloth around his DX neck, but it turned a bit too thick, so I'm not sure. I'm not a tailor or much of a customizer, so I probably won't try unless I really spend some time on it to think about how to achieve this sort of thing. The real deterrent is laziness. Especially if the DX already looks good enough from the shelf.
