Looking forward to contributing images in here again, my replacement should be here Friday and hopefully all is well, I'll certainly be taking pictures as soon as I get him in the event my window of problem free is short.

817 pages!!!! So Hot Toys are replacing the oily bats suit? Thats good news, I'm looking forward to seeing the new problem solved body. I have a 2nd dx batman that I got about early March, unfortunately it has the oily abs. And it still leaks to this day!!!! nothing is stopping it. You would think that it would dry up to this day, but it does not. I am literally fed up of wiping it off with a cloth, it still leaves that ugly shine when wiped off.
I am thinking whether to airbrush clear matt paint onto the oily abs or ask for a replacement body.
This dx batman, an excellent figure without a doubt, but extremely problematic.

It's probably shiny after a while even when it's dry because the oil seems to eat into the paint over a period of time. Then with any dabbing or wiping with the paint coating getting submerged into the oil it disintegrates gradually from dabbing/wiping.
I ended up coating it in new black/grey like acrylic paint.

Geil posted a shot in the other thread, you really can't spot any difference in the photo, other than not being shiny or dark like the oiled ones get, seems more different in feel than appearance.

Why did they shorten it?
I would definitely ask for a replacement. Those who have already asked for a replacement and were sent another leaky one are the ones who really got screwed, because Hot Toys recently made it their policy to only do one replacement. But if I were you I would be all over HT to get one with the new ab construction.

I asked you how you made your videos once on youtube. I didn't totally understand your response. It sounded like all your pans and zooms are done live with a camcorder. This sound really hard! Seems like virtual pans and zooms of still pictures would be much easier.

I opened the figure's packaging just to check it out -- it's all in good shape -- but can't bring myself to display it coz it's too sweet. I think I'll store this one.

this is truly amazing. its my favourite to date. looks great on the fancy base too. i vowed only to buy this and the dx joker, but now the bank robber is on its way too.

No one knows. They made stupid changes that didn't need altered. Thinner neck and kevlar plates. Making the kevlar plate small was inaccurate.

i am finally done with batman's neck.
what i did:
got myself a medi bats (when it was on sale over at HLJ), took off the rubber neck, sanded the crap out of a true type neck, slipped the rubber neck over it, then destroyed the crap out of the DX neck for the magnet, then boom...this is the result.
it wasn't easy slipping the rubber neck into the bat suit, but i finally managed to do it and i am extremely satisfied with how it turned out.
i did a neck mod b4, but i had to sacrifice the ball joint function. even though it retained the same amount of articulation, deep down it still kinda bothered me that it didn't have it anymore.
so i went the extreme route and now i am happy with it. i feel like buying 2 more medi bats so i can do the neck mod for my other two MIB dx bats. sadly, the sale is over at HLJ.
i am finally done with batman's neck.
