Hey can you take pics of your modded neck and a regular DC neck side by side? Looks good.

i'll have to do that tomm. sorry to say, but i don't want to 'dismantle' the mod. it was a B**** slipping the neck into the suit. i can at least pose my spare DX bats with the stock neck next to the modded one.

I actually can't tell any difference in width from that to the stock neck apart from it being lower to the body that ends up looking as if he's shrugging.

If he gutted a Medicom neck and shaved the DX neck for the magnet he should have went all out and filled out the width of the neck.

i used the TT neck for it's ball joint and also because it's shorter than the DX neck.

before i sanded the TT neck, i slipped the medi one over it and it looked TOO wide. i think TIN did something like that b4 and it did NOT look right.

watch the movie again man, some scenes bats neck did not look as wide as you make it out to be. in one post you illustrated that despite my earlier mod, the neck was still too thin. and imo, the medi neck was a bit wider than the DX one, so that's why i did all this work for this current mod.

you mentioned to me before that my previous mod still looked like a wine glass shape.

Unless you fasten the head to the neck and lose all articulation, there will always be an odd transition between the two. The mod looks good.

It's a little bit shorter. And when I say a little bit I mean a little bit. I had to pull up pics of an unmodded Batman to compare. But it's still a good job.

if it looks like he's shrugging, don't forget to take into account that the stock cape is giving more volume to his...traps? is it his traps? the part between his shoulder and neck?

my very early mod (the one where i sanded the crap out of the stock DX neck), i made the neck a bit shorter, but then i took off the cape and the neck still was too long. so i shortened even further, while it eventually looked more natural like how a human body would look, at that point, i had to give up the ball joint functionality.

so now i went back and restored the ball joint with a TT neck. now with the medi neck, its the perfect length and it's wider than the stock DX neck.

so yeah, by saying it's shorter by a little bit, that was exactly what i was trying to go for. bale isn't a giraffe lol.

Why did they shorten it?

No one knows. They made stupid changes that didn't need altered.

It was actually a necessary change based on the body type they used.

v.1 = Narrow Shoulder Truetype. DX = Slim Truetype.

HT had to shorten the arm armor because there's not enough upper arm to lower the armor any further down/as far down as the v.1 figure. Look at where the armor falls on both figures: right before the elbow joint/bend.

Not to mention, the suit is tighter around the arms (and in general) on the DX so there's less give.

Nice work!

As for bicep plate position as is might be good but the shoulder plate is just a tad too long but honestly I am not bothered by this :p DX02 rocks and now even more that the replacement does not leak in the too obvious abs area

The shoulder pad length is actually fine (although the shoulder pads overall still look too big and don't conform to/hug the shoulders like the real suit). The placement of that arm armor on the DX is what's wrong. The v.1 got it right. Medicom got it right.

And I believe it's because of the base body HT went with. Same reason certain suit design elements are different (the line in the rubber padding near the crotch/upper thigh which the v.1 has).

Oh I know.. it sucks and looks goofy but I think they were mostly concerned with the arms being slim. Haven't seen anyone complain about that. But the resulting problem was, the arm armor is too high up to accommodate the smaller upper arms of the Slim TT. Chalk that up to HT deciding to utilize a pre-existing body (The Slim TT).

Looking forward to contributing images in here again, my replacement should be here Friday and hopefully all is well, I'll certainly be taking pictures as soon as I get him in the event my window of problem free is short.

Which part are they replacing man, just a piece or? And how did you go about it? :)

People getting replacements are having the whole body replace, shirt, pants, boots and TT body, the rest of the parts you just hold onto, even the gauntlets

How to go about it is multiple ways, some people have gone through their dealers, some have contacted Hot Toys directly.

Has anyone done a mod that tries to replicate the look of where the rear edge of the helmet meets the neck?

Like this photo that was posted a couple pages back;

There have been many neck mods (I've even done one myself), but none have gotten the neck to look like its back edge flows seamlessly into the helmet. Would require some considerable modding, I think.

Yeah, most of the mods I've seen have been to add to bulk of the neck or shorten it, to get the neck to flow like that into the head would require adding some material to the back beyond what's been done, and odds are, doing that will hinder a lot of articulation. I think Bale could move with the suit that way because the ribbing of the neck armor would allow flexing where the figure can't. I still wish HT would have done the neck armore as like a soft rubber piece around a standard TT neck, that way you could have it flow into the cowl properly but still have posability.
