hi guys, i just bought another dx batman from a store in singapore today, n i can confirm that HT had done something on the leaking oil issue.
as mention by some of us here tat they have indeed changed the rubber to something like a hard plastic like material.
bt dun be too happy nw, cos the fig hav another whole new set of problems...

1st- u cant bend the tummy to the front nw cos its TOO stiff, meaning u cant pose batman in a crouching or fighting pose now.
2nd - since they are using hard plastic material, the suit is nw glue tight onto the part where the pants meet, meaning u cant flip the suit out like b4, where u can place tissue or paper to soak the oil.
3rd- the suit is glued real badly. some parts are not fully glue so u can still tear it out and leave a mark.

overall, articulations on the waist part is greatly affected.. im so disappointed and ive called the shop owner to get a replacement tomorrow.

sanzo what kind of replacement are you getting?? I think all the suits are like that now. Honestly I'd rather have those problems than the oil residue.

Any chance you can show us some pictures?

The torso was never all that well articulated to begin with. It's impossible to get any sort of deep pose with the dense rubber. You wouldn't want to anyway as the rubber would get damaged over time.

Lastly, at least the oil problem seems to have been fixed.

Has anyone done a comparison between the DX Bats and the Medicom DK?

I sold my original Hot Toys DK because I found the Medicom to be so far superior, but I don't know if the new version is a big enough upgrade, as great as it looks.

There's a ton of comparisons in this thread and I know where. You can really see the big round chest on the medicom there which I complained about way back when but no one seemed to see but me.

Hmmm mine are not glued together in the front. Even has the plastic film on the inside. Besides what's the point of lifting it and shove paper inside if the problem is indeed fixed. Some compromise needed to be made so don't tell me you rather have the leaky abs and potentially a deteriorated suit in months to come?

So far, Hot Toys has switched using rubber for the front of the shirt to a hard plastic now.

I would probably just ask for a refund, I don't know if you'll be able to get a replacement without the new material, I think it's going to be their fix for things, thought your glue comments don't sound right, as mine isn't glued down as you say, I have the thin sheet of plastic betwene pants and shirt on mine in addition to the new plastic shirt part.

If you're referring to pictures of the new shirt material, as others have pointed out in my shots, you can't spot the difference, you have to get the figure in hand to really tell.

As far as the articulation lost, you can't bend him forward at the stomach, I can't really remember, but I didn't think there was much of that even with the original material. Sure it sucks a bit, but I'll take a badass looking figure that can pretty much do any pose you can think of and doesn't leak anything to a leaky, defective looking figure that can do an extra pose or two.

Nice! Really captured the lighting from the nightclub, which was an awesome scene visually. Just the thought of mobsters hanging out, having some drinks, feeiling good and oh ____! Batman!!!!

So are we assuming the DCD shipment will have these re-tooled bodies? I would be gutted to order one now and find it leaking.

It is assumption, but I would think a safe one, it'd be a pretty big screw over to collectors if the troubled rubber was used on the DCD figures and only the most recent replacement ones were made with the new plastic.

One of my favorite scenes for Batman in TDK, I enjoyed the way he just plowed through Maroni's men like they weren't even there, and the lighting really made things interesting too.

Not true.

The Medicom TDK Batman (for my taste) needs MAJOR modification to look good. And even then there's still flaws that can't be fixed namely the huge chest that's shaped wrong and the ginormous thunder thighs.

I've been saying the same thing for a minute. I even said it in the Medicom thread when the figure was released. So you're not alone.

Honestly, you can barely see it, there really isn't much room to see between the shirt and pants, the shirt is snug and the abs has 0 give now with the plastic.
