Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

GrayWolf87 - I think the thing that's throwing off the overall look of your figure is the cape. The way it's bunched up around the shoulder area detracts from the overall sillouhette of the figure. I think if you were to mod your cape or manage to tuck it into the holes of the armour more to get it flat around the shoulders, it would probably improve the look a lot more and compliment your neck mod even more also.

Yeah I thought may be the cape or something. Really need to get around to either ordering or making a better cape! Its the stock cape and the clips are inserted correctly and I just need to get a custom one. When got some spare cash then will do because it does bunch up quite a bit and doesnt hang very naturally!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Before you spend money on a custom cape, why not try what quite a few people on here have done and just remove the clips from the stock cape entirely... Then all you need to do is gently push the ends of the cape into the holes where the clips would normaly go and it pretty much stays in there of it's own accord.
I did that with mine and it stays in fine plus it hangs and looks SO much better.

Is there a special way to remove the clips? They are sewn inside the cape too arent they? I just got a DX Batman and I love it but his cape is hard to put on and the clips pretty much stick straight up on his shoulders.....it throws everything off.

I like to keep things as close to box fresh as possible. If I do any mods then I buy the extra part and mod that, incase it goes tits up then I can still use the stock materials, but also because I like to do as few mods as possible and those which are can be reversed. For instance modding a V1 neck, which if I choose to reverse I can just swap the necks, rather than breaking off or shortening the neck post of the DX Bats which is a permanent mod.

If I was to do that mod I would buy another cape and do the mod, and if I was to do that I would rather buy some other cape made of a thinner material. I also don't like how it hangs down the back, want it to hang closer to the body.

Thanks for the suggestion though!:)

The toon effect?

honestly man, I like the neutral mouth piece it is just the cowl. I feel like the medicom once widened has the cowl shape down to a tee. Also I am just not a fan of PERS.

I think the whole PERS thing is over rated and just un-necessary. Between mine having a lazy eye (which I fixed), others having cross eyes and the whole mechanism breaking, it seems like more hassle than its worth. Not to mention the look of it doesnt really suit Batman.

That photo above makes me tempted to seek out a Medi head.

I mean the toon effect of the PERS. They seem so bright white like something from Roger Rabbit on Batman.

Thrust - is your head repainted by Rismo? Or by you / other? Looks awesome

thanks mate, it's painted by Rismo.

I'm beginning to like this combo a lot now. It's only one thing that bothers me. I can't pose him looking down. I've used the V1 neck and it is really thick so it can't move and the head just pops over the neck, so you're only be able to movie him left and right. but not down.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I think they are realy designed to be wedged up into the crotch. Have you tried that?

Or better yet, be like me and ditch the stand! :lecture And just use the base (if you like the way it looks).

Yeah I try to shove it up the crotch as far as it will go, but it slowly slides down while spreading out (pre-emptive "That's what she/he said" for that whole sentence).

I'd try with just the DX base, but I've had no luck getting Bats to stand on his own. His ankles seem mushy and not good for standing. Although I know I'm doing something wrong, seeing how dozens of people here have him standing on his own.

All you have to do is take out the metal rods, and twist them till they are close together. don't worry about snapping them because they are bendy. after that put it back to the plastic post and they will stay close together.

I'll give that a shot. My DX Joker's stand stays close together, and it works fine, so hopefully this will help.

Personally, I like posing the figures without the stand. But if you're interested in a DX Batman stand, just let me know, I may have an extra.

Will do, thanks.

Does anyone know is Rismo is taking more of these commissions?

he never said that he wouldn't take more commissions, but i haven't seen him for a long time online and i also wrote him 3 weeks ago via mail, but didn't get any response, so I don't know what's with him and if he's still into this hobby. :(
