Just to be technical, that big bold quote about his armor is regarding the Batman Begins suit.

Sorry to bring this back up, but I can see how MF can think that big, bold quote is referring to the BB suit. The quote says "stab-proof", now I'm pretty sure Fox says that the new suit leaves him prone to knife attacks. So that quote must be talking about the BB suit.

But hey let's be honest here, it's F'n rubber. BOTH suits are F'n rubber. I could care less how they're described on-screen. In reality they're rubber. And not only that, they look like rubber. I don't understand how anyone can see the suits and NOT see that there's rubber parts there. If those comments are directed more towards the mesh suit that the rubber pieces sit on top of for the TDK suit, that I canunderstand. But imo every company has failed miserably trying to recreate that. The DCD figure came close, but overall looked like garbage. Medicom failed. HT failed the first time and looks to be failing at that again. Basically every TDK suit Batman out there has failed.

Well the BB suit definitely LOOKS like rubber.. so I NEVER complained a THING about the begins figure (which has its flaws too obviously). The 2nd suit. YES I CAN indeed see PARTS of it's rubber... but to be honest.. the whole look and feel is not as much rubber as the BB suit.. that's for sure..and btw.. not all parts are rubber in the REAL suit...the most obvious example is the complicated mesh suit underneath.. and also the harder armour plates. Therefore, the part I am most concerned with is the "mesh suit" material underneath the armour... not so much about the armour pieces itself .. it's the fact that the "mesh suit" material made by HT looks very rubbery and has poor contrast.. of course this is because of the fact that the suit is sculpted by rubber. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, Let's also face it. this batman looks damn fat for a TDK bats. If we are having the comic version, sure, it's bulky. But in TDK the whole look is more streamlined and toned. Just my two cents.


Btw.. I have nothing against people who think that this figure is perfect/doesn't need to change. It's just that I don't see why the figure cannot improve this pretty major flaws (to me) soon, which will make an even better figure for those who already feel satisfied. Afterall, I just hope my tiny voice could be heard (I know I have been repeating the same criticism /gripe for the last few days).

is there any chance HT going to use another material for the suit?

You mean like vinyl? The medicom batsuit utilizes vinyl, right?

I don't think it's possible to replicate the appearance of foam latex pieces overlaid on a mesh undersuit convincingly in 1/6 scale. It wouldn't look right and I'm constantly reminded of the DCD 13" tdk figure whenever I imagine that (which used a fabric under suit).

I don't think rubber is a bad choice, but it shouldn't be used for the majority of the suit.

The only thing that looks like a toy on the medicom figure is the upper part. The chest a bit but more the part above the chast.

Everything else looks better then the HT one. The hands, the legs,... it just looks like there is the kevlar under the venyl rubber.

And Hot Toys really have now all sources to make the ultimate Batman, but it seems to me that they don't want to do it, and that they just lay back and know that everything pays 200$ even they won't do anything on it. But I'm not willing to pay 200$ for their laziness!

Yeah there are people who are happy with the way the figure looks right now... Im one of them isnt that amazing? Had him on preorder since it was first made available...

yeah you're right. Hot Toys haven't done any work at all on this new figure

I would love to see a hi res shot of that pic too. I would love to see if that is the DX batman on the batman, and from that distance batman look pretty lean. lol

You're definitely not the only one - the biggest flaw in TDK Batman is his big gut sticking out. It's made even more obvious by the fact that the belt doesn't stick straight out - it hangs underneath the gut. Unless you wrap it around the gut, in which case it's obvious it's too high up and clear that you're just attempting to (poorly) hide the gut.

Beyond that, the only other real problem was the head - it wasn't "helmet-like" enough and top-heavy enough (like in the movie). Rather, it was too much like the Begins head. But they're very different masks - the TDK mask had a built-in helmet, with his communications gear, sonar stuff, etc., which made it look a lot more top-heavy.

I'm fine with everything else, but the gut is really the huge problem that needs to be fixed.

the gut is actually very fixable as it was in the V1 TDK batman. The chest and arms are the problem. It is just the way he is posed. The stomach join it sticking out forcing the suit to stick out and all you have to do is pop it back in place which is very easily done.

Don't forget though, Joker is essentially 2 figures, so to come as soon as he will, he'd actually be pretty quick. Base bodies probably take nothing to do, hell Hot Toys makes so many figures they probably do large runs of the base bodies all the time and just use them when needed. With DX Joker, you have 2 full costumes, 2 portraist, one with a new technology in it, 2 sets of hands and the base and a few weapons to products. Other figures coming out sooner are because there's less to them.
