man i think im taking a break from this hobby once my po's are complete. prices are too much for my wallet and study loans now..

so far there's dx11 and 12 and hulk on order.

considering catwoman as the sculpt looks fantastic.
tough choice what do you fellas reckon?

They are going to produce a ridiculously high amount of this figure. You should be able to get her for retail or less six months after release so I say hold off on her and make sure you can pay off the other stuff.

ah i thought of that but some figures sell higher after they are released, like the iron man mk 6 so it worries me! but others like jack and 89 batman are cheaper now so hard to tell...

and there's nothing like po and waiting for the figure to come out!

i've got enough for those i've po-ed already as i've set aside the money for them! woo!

ah i thought of that but some figures sell higher after they are released, like the iron man mk 6 so it worries me! but others like jack and 89 batman are cheaper now so hard to tell...

Id say wait as well. I dont see this one selling out like some do. TDKR Selina is no Iron Man, Joker or Batman. Her character isnt as popular.

i'm probably gonna wait and see how she turns out and if i don't get her, no biggie. esp if the mask isn't removable.

but it'd be nice to have selina with bruce together.

I'll say buy now, think later. The thing is maybe the figures will go down in price for a while.. but how low the price will be? I'd say at top $20 under retail price. But if they go up in price and the figure become "rare" they easy rise $100 on 3 months or something. For example as the 2011 Batman/Bruce Wayne. I have never seen that figure under $214 (retail price).. only a few months after the release it was selling for $350.. and now you can't get it for under $400.. and that's on less than a year.

true! that's why its tough to decide. usually if i can afford the whole figure now i'd po instantly and set aside that amount as i hate knowing the price will rise once it's released. even if the price goes down after i po, doesn't bother me much as i already have the figure in hand! and you're right its usually around 20-30 less at most anyway.

so i'm trying to scrunch up some numbers here and there and estimate how much i can set aside now for this figure.

love the feeling of po if you get what i mean.

Agree. But the number of "casual" collectors, like myself, is growing too, along with Hot Toys levels of production..

yup true, im sure the new dx's will not sell out alot as the increase in price means many people do not po anymore.

i usually just po the figures i really want anyway.
and see if i want the others when they are released.
like avengers captain america (hope his price falls like the fa capt which i got on the cheap!)

but hot toys female figures are different in that they seem rarer? or less demand so less is made? examples are jill valentine and black widow.
exceptions are alice though i think that's because the figure was not as popular somehow.

Not many "casual" collectors are going to pony up for Kyle at $200. Casual collectors will get Batman, Joker (and/or Bane). I dont see Selina being at the top of many casual collectors "must haves" list.

Also, keep in mind that youll probably find a lot for sale on the secondary market. Collectors trying to sell her to get funds for more important/better figures coming in the future. Collectors will most likely keep the main characters to represent their collections versus secondary characters.

Personally, I see Catwoman being most popular with those Nolan Fans that plan to be a completist with the line. Those that have a broader collection will likely skip her in favor of a more popular iconic release from another film/game/etc property.

Oh yeah I think Catwoman looks like the better figure versus Bane, but I think most people will consider it this way:

DX12 Batman (Main Character- MUST HAVE)
Bane (Main Villain, if you get two, This is a MUST HAVE to represent TDKR)
Selina Kyle (Secondary Character-Not really as important to the story as the first two)

And at these prices, unless you are a completist, Or prefer her character over Bane, somethings gotta give, and I see Selina getting the chopping block off some folks list, if the need RISES.

Once the dx or the catwoman or bane dry up REISSUE is in effect. Classic Hot toys mentality and you have to remember Hot toys is in this to make the MOST money off there license. They pay big bucks for them and thats why you see so many ironman, batman, and figure Reissues. As for the bruce wayne toyfair. I imagine in a year you will see a DX batman Begins bruce wayne figure and the price of the toy fair will plummet.

I'm passing on bane as well. They rushed him imo, hopefully a dx will rise later on.

Honestly, I thought this too, but look at recent releases like Nick Fury and Hawkeye. I think HT and the distributors have scaled back their order numbers and we're slowly going back to the way it was 2 years ago.
