The craziest part about all this panic, like with every other HT, is we all know once this is in hand, 99.9% of everyone will love it.

Quite possibly, but this figure certainly has the makings of countless nitpicking and debate even once it gets into most of everyone's hands here.

No 1/6 figure is ever safe, is it?

I know we all hate this comparison pics with lines and arrows, me too. I'm only talking about the mask and if the right one really shows Hot Toys version, one shouldn't forget that this pictures will most likely appear bigger on many of our screens than the head actually is and there are great looking pictures like this one so I wouldn't ever cancel it:

This one is just pointing out some major differences.
Maybe it's just because HT wanted to be nice giving us the option to remove the mask
and therefore casted them from rubber now, leading to the lower accuracy.

But it really made me think of bootleg.
But I think at least the shape and fitting could be optimized by placing it better then.

the eye holes are completely different shape too.

are you kidding me? look close.

the proto had an upward swept almond shape. the final looks like it's totally inverted! also, notice the real estate of the mesh on the final, it's a lot more than the proto.

Don't think so, think that's just the different angle.

No it's quite different. You can tell by how it outer corners are low on the "fake" and the "real" one is much more angular. The right just looks droopy and sad.

The more pics I see the more I'm starting to dislike the look of the costume design. Not the figure per se, but the movie look overall. I don't know what it is or why it didn't bother me before, but the long hair exposed for enemies to pull on (as well as leaving your DNA all over the city), big clunky goggles and impractical stilettos is kind of silly and ridiculous.

Looks like fan girl cosplaying, cutesy crap for the tumblr crowd.


Maybe it's seeing all these pages of pics back to back. I dunno.

And what's with the hair. Before it was an even lovely brown... now it's darker with some ugly streaks.

Yes, it would actually be the third type of mask I think, after the completely different head we saw with the The Bat display in between.

Even with the mask pushed up, that won't change the smaller eye holes on the production version. I don't see how they messed it up when they got it right the first time.

Also, her goggles shape are different... wow. The right one is thick and curved, the left proto is thin and straighter and wider.

I don't see how it's so confusing, unless you find the idea of Elljay suddenly photographing knock-offs as plausible, but hey, I've seen people believe stranger things on these boards...

Didn't follow the thread very closely the last days, so who confirmed the ones on ebay were actually really by HT?

If you can't see it, then no one else is going to convince you. I don't know where precisely the sculpts on eBay came from, nor if they're what you'll get if you make a purchase, but what's being shown is very clearly Hot Toys product. Not Kumik, not Phicen, not Headplay, Roadshow, etc..

But if it's an asinine post for you when somebody holds the opinion that the mask doesn't look close to the teased mask

Please don't be a revisionist - I've said all along the masks are different - I said this over a month ago even. What I called asinine was your assertion that the mask and figure being shown in these brand new pictures were knock-offs. That's absolutely preposterous. If that's not what you intended then you should not have used the word "knock-off."

I'm curios, can you please point out the areas that are more movie accurate now?

Honestly, some of the complaints I read here about the more insignificant things, yet there are some glaring issues staring everyone right in the face that the same people miss. It makes one want to rip their hair out - it's like I'm watching some huge farce unfold in the loony bin.
