My guess is there will be another in his black suit (which is apparently not underneath unfortunately). If so hopefully that will have a more neutral expression to the head sculpt. For now, this one is fine.

What I find off about the expression is I see rage in the mouth area but an evil glee in his eyes. I don't remember him being that sinister in the film.

i think his eyes are too small and his teeth are too straight and not curved enough to show the black shadows of inner cheeks(if that makes sense). I'll still get him and use the helmet for him! HT shows too much teeth which makes them look like baby teeth or cartoony, like this and DX11 laughing sculpt. You can't see everyones teeth when their mouth's or open like this.

Whoa. I appreciate that they want to give the head sculpt more personality but it didn't turn out well. An angry look but with a closed mouth would look better.

I don't like the expression(same reason I passed on Wolverine), would much rather had a neutral, however the suit looks killer. I hope they release a different outfit later.

allways seems to hurt the sales of a figure in the long run.

GREAT for statues, bad for poseable figures.

Becuase on a figure, you allways end up with it either looking constipated, or rape face.


OR you could pose him awkwardly with the guy on the right.

glad he has his helmet, but i think i'm gonna skip this one.

I'll throw in my 2 cents

I like the fact that Hot Toys are trying extreme facial expressions that little bit more now as opposed to the standard neutral look

This doesn't make it exempt from any criticism though and I would agree that something is off and it may very well be the brow, it's very Jack Nocholson-y to me

I will be getting this as I have Supes and Jor-el on pre-order and if they don't make any changes to this sculpt, there's always the helmet and a potentially different sculpt for the black suit version

And I am confident there will be changes, they haven't fully completed the suit underneath yet as it doesn't look as though they have added the cape harness to it. Y'know, that thick ridge around the neck that the cape fits into, so no worries from me

On a different note, someone please photo-shop the hair off of this head sulpt onto the Jor-el head sculpt
I'm telling you, that's Maximus right there if you put them togther!

I am hoping the owners of the latest wolverine figure agree with me - I have the last stand wolverine figure all the pictures or video reviews on YouTube don't do the sculpt justice. It's very good in good in hand. I think this will be the same with Zod. I think hot toys need to more figures with facial expressions rather than just a bland face. But I like having my figures in an action pose. So I am happy with this

I wouldn't call it "spot on", but I would say its a better likeness than the majority of Hot Toys Marvel Avengers line-up. Between this and the Man of Steel figure himself, I think DC/Superman fans have a lot to be happy about.

Amazing. The old thread got closed. The way it works around here with threads is really confusing. When I open a thread for a teaser, they close it when someone makes a new thread for the full reveal. When I do the same they merge it with the old one...

It's a fantastic headsculpt, extremely life-like and has a superb paint job. But it's not Shannon. Anyone who says it is, are you kidding me? From one angle I think I saw some likeness. The likeness on Loki for an example beats this one easily, because it looks like the actor. This doesn't. I'll still get it because of the helmet and the chance of some tweaking on the headsculpt. But that's not Shannon. Could just as well be a cosplayer.

Well I wouldn't bet on that; everyone always says that, but as far as I can recollect that only happens with about one in twenty figures.

So many complain about HT's "deadpan sculpts" and when they do something like this what do you get? "i want a more neutral expresssion" LMAOOO..
Its not a 100% sculpt, but it looks good!
