Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Bottom line is that anything to do with that endoskeleton is utterly ridiculous. There is absolutely no need for it what so ever. You can literally put wires into a silicon body and it would work better. At this point they should just scrap that entire idea and just properly cast and paint the head sculpt and stick it on an appropriately proportioned body and call it a day.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

They did themselves no favors by publishing a hard deadline.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Wether the whole thing is a scam or not is up for debate but what definitely is a scam is the way they went about procuring pre order money.
Vijay was talking about fast turn over of figures and wanting to announce a figure and release it nearly straight away, implying that work in progress shots were from a while back and the figure was ready to ship the following month from the pre orders opening.
Then there was the slight delay to let there distributors catch up with production, and then delays for added guitars etc.
And now we know without a shadow of a doubt he had nothing ready.
no prototype, no factory and no approval.
I've seen the die hard trying to spin this like it's all good publicity, everyone's taking about molecule8, I bet they've already made all the figures and like David Copperfield they bring them all into existence with smoke machines and a TA DAH!! and they'll carry vijay though the virtual streets of the internet like a wounded hero as the molecule8 train steamrollers over its 1/6 competition.
But at the end of the day they've used dishonesty to get money out of people and that makes them ****s.

M8 reminds me of my nephew , always starting some crazy business he knows nothing about and thinks he will make a million a year....he's 28 and still living at home in the basement.

Same for me, but with Wonka. Hopefully someone else can get the rights.

This is all true...they may not have started as a scam but they definitely evolved into one!

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Calling them scammers may be jumping the gun. To mee it just looks like they cant manage themselves. Has anyone lost their deposit or payment?

I think a scam may not always involve LOSS of money...my definition of "scam" includes giving knowingly false information in an effort to get pre-order money with the hope of being able to eventually deliver something...I won't list all of the "knowingly false" info though...the past 350 pages of this thread have already chronicled it quite nicely.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

That's the most disappointing aspect for me. I'm a huge BTILC fan and there's nowhere near enough merch for the film. I've got the Sideshow on order but the thought of a 1/4 scale Jack Burton...

Gets your Pork-Chop Expressed?

Does anyone seriously believe that a deposit or payment NOT made through Paypal would be returned?

Two great posts here from Gogul and Mr Sinister, sum it up perfectly.

So for the sake of argument lets say scamming is defined as committing an act or acts of deception with the intent to acquire money.

what ppl *seriously believe* isnt really a standard for getting scammed IMO. Im just asking if ppl have lost money. If theyre refunding money seems like theyre only crime is being poorly run. Has anyone tried to get their money back? Has anyone been successful in the same? They would do themselves a great service if they offered a refund asap.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

We know of at least one board member who went after a refund. I believe it was Amstel and it was the same runaround we've seen with the lennon figure. It took several weeks of direct and constant contact with them, a couple false promises, and then a refund. Amstel would have to confirm most of that since I don't remember every single detail.

I got my refund from PayPal

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Good! No issues?

Actually was my first time using it. No issues, I wrote message to PayPal as what happened and M8 was given 1 week time to respond which they chose to ignore, so I got my refund after.
My intention was to force them to respond to my queries on PayPal initially but didn't expect them to ignore that

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I think that was the trend...the virtuous but misunderstood Molecule 8 company that is really just doing its best seemed to ignore most of the refund requests at least as reported here...it seems like PayPal had to force the refund each time...
