Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

Yeah I know with confidence all mine are legit. Bootlegs were even on the market when I bought all mine and u never did enough research on them to know they released bootleg packaging along with them.

I wish molds had been made of all the other NECA sculpts before they were scrapped. I would have jumped on bootlegs of those

Whaaat? What's the difference with the tube packaging? All the information i've found claims the insert is an exact copy.

Are you kidding? I would.

I would get a bunch of toys that today have holy grail status.

Didn't mean to confuse... Despite being an exact copy I still call it a bootleg because it's not from the official release. I've never seen the repo/ bootleg/ copy tube packaging and I was just surprised to hear that went as far as to make it. I assumed they would have only released to figures loose just like the movie star tmnt bootlegs

I honestly think NECA originally released tubes but ceased once they let the license expire. There are bootlegs from China that are either loose or are in the tube packaging. I will say that the bootleg tubes are pretty much gone from ebay now. It's mostly the loose boots.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

The Neca figures in the tubes I believe were an official re-release by Neca for a short time after the original carded figures were released. The original carded figures came with the street bases that linked together to form a display base of a street scene for all 4 turtles and more accessories. They are more sought after and valued higher. They also came in a limited box set including all 4 as a set in either color or b&w and these also included the bases. The boot legs were never available with the carded packages or any of the additional accessories. They only come with the Turtles main weapons and that's it. They come in variations of either all turtles with the original comic red bandanas , or the different colors given to each from the original animated cartoon series. They could be either bought loose or in a repro of the tube packages Neca used on the re-release.... :) I have the original carded ones, alas I never opened them and now I can't bring myself to do so since they are valued so high... One day I may just pick up the boot legs to have a loose set.

Yup that's the NECA story... Shame they lost the license. Shorty after they did someone had a loose set for sale for $50 shipped and although I already had 5 sets in the various packaging I figured a loose set would be fun to pose so I jumped on it. I have regrets in my years of collecting but picking up that loose set for $50 shipped was one of my favorite scores looking back.

This week or next week should be the first pre-order.

Where did they say this? I haven't seen an official announcement from Mondo, but I honestly don't know where to look.

Wondered this myself. Last update from Mondo (pg 21?) pushed Leonardo back to August. Would like to hear different now, though.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

Are there any chances these will show up at local dealers? Or only Mondo/Sideshow?

My local shop will be carrying the First Hellboy statue but they hadn't heard anything about these.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

Wow, these are really cool. Is there a video review of the "First Turtle Figure" for $65 somewhere?

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

Not out yet. The first turtle preorders are still open, as far as I know. Looked awesome in person at SDCC last year, though.

As in 2014? Whoa...

Just pre-ordered the Color Version w/ Orange Mask. Kinda wanted the B&W Version though.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

Yeah I bought the regular B&W Mondo turtle as well. Just too cool not to have. Nobody else made that version so I was def on board regardless of the price.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

Yeah, I think it's a very unique piece.
