This piece has so much hatred already. I can see this statue both regular and exclusive in stock for many years to come. Collectors might as well just pick it up on eBay for less because the demand for it just evaporated. Take the saving money and find someone who can paint the shirt to match his leg/arms. I'm no fashion designer, but any expert can probably said that outfit color is a nightmare combination.

Such a beautiful statue by Pablo Viggiano that turns into a disaster. I'm sure Pablo is not too happy that someone dropped the ball on this one.

I feel sorry for Pablo
He took his time and made a great Statue and now its receiving a lot of Slack for a small imperfection (that I could probably live with) in his great Statue.
I hope it is fixed up so others who have ordered are not disappointed when they open up there box to find what looks like a dead rat stuck to a Christmas Tree

Then SS, HT, Medicom, etc should all stop trying to be accurate and just make them look as cool as possible.

Yes. As in the case with the Uruk-Hai Berserker PF. A fellow argued that he thinks the fangs are too prominent and not film accurate. But it sure as hell looks a lot better that way, hence the reason why he's sold out. Now imagine if the Berserker shipped up with red... er... cardinal colored loincloth. :yuck

That will go over well with fans around the world then. :lol The fangs unless they look like Vampire teeth I don't think anyone could tell the difference.I don't think the fangs have anything to do with it being sold out. More than likely its the pose and overall composition of the piece.

Where's SS on this anyway? Any official word? You know that they're reading this stuff.

*in case they have posted in this thread already--My bad.

i believe it was posted sometime back that ss knows about the situation and are suppose to be looking into it, hopefully we'll hear something first of the week.
i would assume that they will halt shipping until, either it gets fixed or the people that are getting them are aware of the change. at least i would think that they would let people know of the change, and save themselves all the extra shipping cost that they will be forced to pay.

Nope, thankfully only a handful of Sideshow fans are in these forums, so most people won't be aware that they're supposed to outraged.

Really --->

That is actually closer to what SS is offering than the prototype. :lol

showing a picture of sideshow employees dressed up in home made outfits isn't kidding anyone!:monkey5

Wouldn't you think the average person would be more likely to be disappointed when they open the box and find that what they bought looks nothing like the picture on Sideshow's site? At least we on this forum know to be prepared for changes from proto to production. And let's be realistic -- this isn't a minor change that is going to go unnoticed.

Exactly. Most of us are fairly prepared for minor differences in proto to production, but notion that this is just a minor change from the proto is a bit far fetched. I'm not outraged by any means, but I did cancel my order. If they change it, or it really is an easy fix I'll probably pick it up later when that's confirmed.

I haven't seen it in person yet, so this is just supposition. But in the past I've found that people that had never seen the comparison pictures and had never read the posts about how bad a change is aren't even aware of the difference.

Personally I've avoided the HT TDK new suit threads as I'm aware that people are saying bad things about it, but I have the figure and love it - why should I subject myself to the nitpickers?

I'm not saying that the situation with the Moria Orc is comparable, just that non-members are more likely to be happy with the figure over those that have been exposed to all the negativity.

Exactly. If it wasn't for the Indy threads, I would never have checked my Indy PF for a "green looking jacket" or "dark skin tone on the face" or all of those other nit-picky quibbles.

Some really good quality pic's, taken without the aid of a flash. Yeah, the resemblance is striking! :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

The weathering looks better than I suspected, and I plan on doing some very simple drybrushing -- this is an easy fix (not that you should have to, but it is what it is at this point).

All you will need is a smaller enough brush to fit within the armor.

Drybrushing is honestly incredibly easy ---

1) You will want to find the right color for weathering the leather, acrylic paints are a must; probably a burnt umber

2) Get the brush wet with paint and it may require mixing it with a touch of water, then brush as much as you can off of the brush onto a paper towel - almost to the point where you nothing comes off of the brush anymore

3) Apply to your statue, the little paint that remains with just cover the surface with a layer of grit that will really make this one shine

Rinse and repeat.

Ignorance is indeed bliss right Dave?
