The SS shill speaks again. Sorry DD but you're ability to look at anything SS does in an objective manner, and be taken seriously, doesn't exist anymore.

Firstly, this is the fault of those of us who are disgusted with what SS has done for "stirring up crap and making things worse".

Then, this whole thing is a non-issue.

And now, we who really wanted this piece are "haters" because we are angry at what SS has done and the way they handled things.

Does that pretty well sum it up? If ignorance is bliss I imagine you must be a really happy guy right about now.

Just because the haters (such as yourself) are ruder and louder doesn't make them right.

As I've said many times - I don't have the piece so I can't judge. And nor can anyone else who doesn't have it in hand.

Very true. My only wish is that SS would pick up shipping back to them if we get a piece that isn't what we had initially ordered.

I can't imagine sending this back (I figure I can weather it pretty decently on my own) but it would be nice for those who thought we were getting what was on display at SDCC.

Given the nature of the final product, I would be shocked if they didn't.

I can't wait for mine; it is going to look great with Frodo. :banana

I asked the rep if they had fixed the shirt coloring and she wasn't even aware of any issue with them.

And I thought that Sideshow was looking into this? If that were the case, I would have thought that they would have made all of the reps aware of a potential product problem.

And on another note, considering most folks can't walk into a brick and mortar and see these products in-person, judging a piece based on collector photos is really the only way to determine whether or not it's worth buying. That's where forums have value, despite what opinions may be thrown around.

If you make the case politely they may do that as they would for a defective product, since they haven't updated the pics on the site.

Well I will wait to see how this looks in person before I do anything. I think the coloring is fine, but there should be some severe weathering on these clothes. It looks like he just picked up from the dry cleaners. Are there dry cleaners in Moria?

Why are you guys canceling? Doesn't DD have a 30 day customer satisfaction guarantee? Get it in hand and then decide.

I think the guarantee will let you send the item back but you still have to pay shipping costs? If you cancel now, you won't have to pay anything. I guess that's why people cancel, to save some cash.

Sounds like a good idea Pix. I just switched mine to Flex-Pay too, like a week ago, so if I cancelled, I'd be out $20 to start.

The other problem for me is I'm in Canada, so if I want to send something back, the shipping is BRUTAL, not to mention the customs charges I won't get back. It's almost not worth it. :angelsmil

If I decide to cancel (can't imagine it), I'll call up my girl Lindsey and get taken care of. :D

:monkey4 This will be SIM all over again. Hope SSC doesn't raise prices again to cover all the lost shipping and handling.

Based on the 30 days guaranteed policy, it applies on defect/damage or filling your order. You can't order it and say "hmm...I don't want it anymore because he's too red. I'm sending it back and Sideshow must pay for all my expenses." The question is...being too red might not be considered as a "defect" to them. So, I didn't want to debate with them and fight for the ALL the shipping expenses. Therefore, I rather cancel now and re-order it down the road. Also, by cancelling now, you would be saving them money on the shipping expenses.

We will pay the return shipping cost if the return / exchange is a result of our error such as a defect / damage or an error in filling your order. * If the purchase is being returned for any other reason than those previously stated, the buyer will be responsible for all shipping charges, including those to return the item(s) to us. Refunds will be the purchase price minus any applicable shipping charges.

Because mass-overreacting, and flaming is much more fun!

:lecture
Hmm... You know, mass-overreacting works in two ways: it can end up in a cancellation wave, but also in an ordering-hysteria, where people that intentionally didn't plan on ordering a product go ahead and do so anyway, regardless if they have the budget for it or not. I read about it all the time here on the board! Is it stupid to get carried away like that? Perhaps. But it is equally unwise to show pictures of prototypes that just don't come up to expectations. Or rather, to release items that don't come up to expectations aroused by these prototypes.

That's the case with me. Saves shipping $$$, also the fact that shipping these big PF boxes back and forth is a major pain to me (since I have to have all my stuff sent to my workplace). Also, there is a bit of dissapointment that the end product looks so much different than the proto (to me at least).

No, it'll be much easier just to re-order if this turns out to be not as bad as the initial pics have shown.

And I think labeling this as mass hysteria is going a little too far here. The simple fact is that most folks are just not happy with the end product. The SS defenders need to just deal with that and move on, you're not going to change anyone's mind by telling them they're followers of mass hysteria (or whatever).

If a large majority feels a certain way, it's probably for a reason. Just because a few folks seem to be fine with something, it doesn't mean the rest of the world has to go along with it.

It's just impossible to stay angry with you Dave. Whenever I am, you come up with one of these patented lines of your's that just cracks me up. :lol I've bought over 150 SS and SSW products over the years including every SS LOTR LSB and dio., and most PF's. I've sided with SS a good 90% of the time when it comes to their products or decisions [including the WK LSB, for which I took a real beating] but if that makes me a "hater" so be it. I'm am never going to agree 100% with SS, or any company and it if that makes me a "hater" in your book, great. Any way you slice it, I figure that's still better than being a mindless robot.

The silence from SS regarding this issue is the real disturbing part. Most people associate silence with "We don't care" or just plain pulling a fast one on customers.
