Based on the 30 days guaranteed policy, it applies on defect/damage or filling your order. You can't order it and say "hmm...I don't want it anymore because he's too red. I'm sending it back and Sideshow must pay for all my expenses." The question is...being too red might not be considered as a "defect" to them. So, I didn't want to debate with them and fight for the ALL the shipping expenses. Therefore, I rather cancel now and re-order it down the road. Also, by cancelling now, you would be saving them money on the shipping expenses.

We will pay the return shipping cost if the return / exchange is a result of our error such as a defect / damage or an error in filling your order. * If the purchase is being returned for any other reason than those previously stated, the buyer will be responsible for all shipping charges, including those to return the item(s) to us. Refunds will be the purchase price minus any applicable shipping charges.

That applies to Sideshow covering the S&H. But you can return a piece for whatever reason within 30 days of shipping. :lecture

If a large majority feels a certain way, it's probably for a reason. Just because a few folks seem to be fine with something, it doesn't mean the rest of the world has to go along with it.

And Dave, not everyone of those guys are haters.....they are just concerned consumers.. and I think they got the right to voice their opinion.

Red clothes...I would say that it is a defect! So return shipping should be covered.

As a fellow SSC collector, I'd actually appreciate anyone not wasting SSC's money by allowing them to ship an item you think you'll return. In the end that wasted money comes back to collectors in the form of higher costs. I'm sure some of the most recent price hikes are partially due to people sending their SIMs back 2 or 3 times.

UPS and FEDEx aren't exactly sympathetic to "they didn't like it".

For every $40 they wasted on shipping an heavy PF back and forth thats 8 1/6th figures I prolly have to pay $5 more for.

The silence from SS regarding this issue is the real disturbing part. Most people associate silence with "We don't care" or just plain pulling a fast one on customers.

Well, I for one am accustomed to their silence. It happens quite often that SSC keeps silent when things are uncomfortable. Many of my polite and harmless but uncomfortable comments on their site where censored. Hey, their prerogative! It's their site! They registered those comments all the same I guess. Just like they register this thread. Hopefully they embrace all the constructive elements from it.

Let's not forget: price hikes HURT!! But people are entitled to what they payed for.

btw... you guys don't think that all the items SSC gives away during contests are really FREE, do you? Somebody payed for them, and, it's always us! Not that I mind the contests, not at all. They should just be seen in context.

well i just talked to a person a ss, and since i'm an international customer i have the rogue coming at the same time, but i asked about the moria orc, and they said that they have opened some to take a look at them, and it appears that the red is way brighter with the photos on this site than the ones that they had opened up to inspect.

so take out of that what you will, i still choose to keep mine coming and i'll make final judgement when i have it on hand.

Perhaps they'll final get around to putting some of their own updated photo's up then and let us be the judge, though I doubt they'll be any better than this guys pic's.

Wow 117 pages and still nothing from Sideshow. Man I think SS produce some of the best products in the business and apart from this Santa Claus version the sculpt is incredible. I just hope we get some form of explanation. No amount of "wait till you see it in person" can change the fact that this guy looks like he hasn't seen a days battle.

Very good point, but, do you really expect someone from SSC to come here and release an official statement?

My hopes for this piece are very high. I had the weta version and it was my favorite next to the C Troll. This was and I hope it to be my LOTR prized piece. Due to the change, it may fall way down into the darkest pits of Moria.

I have no choice at this time to cancel it since it has already shipped and will be here tomorrow! I have high hopes that it is not as bad as the photos on this site.

I know photography can show EVERYTHING. I hope that is the case here. I do have my doubts that it is much different but I have been wrong before.

I do know that once it is my hands tomorrow, I will be able to truely judge it for what it is and I will post my thoughts on it as well. I will try to take an accurate photo to best show what it looks like in person and post it here.

For those who canceled, It may have been a wise choice, could have been a bad choice, or did not want it bad enouph to begin with. Only time, in hand photos, and consumer feedback will be the true telling of what one is correct .

To replace it with a different statue like Indy PF or get my money back has come to money back if I return it.

I do find it odd that SS has not updated the photos of this statue. I also find it odd that they have not posted a proper response to the issues at hand for this piece.

I have been with SS since the first LOTR weta statues. They have never treated me wrong. In fact, they have been fantastic.

As far as the free items/givaways...They do not have to do it. One thing I learned in retail is that the company pays for it, not the consumer.

That is my rant for the night.

Until Tuesday and statue in Hand...have a good night.

I just called sideshow to cancel. They informed me that they are aware of the photos that have been posted but denies it is THAT red. They told me that they will delay processing MY order until Friday, in the meantime, by Wed, they plan to post new photos of the PF. They said it is not as dark as the one displayed at the comic con but definately not as bright red as the photos posted on the board. They were trying to figure out how the photo was made to show such a bright red tunic and thought it may have been a lighting issue. I will wait to see their photos and then decide. I thought it was a reasonable compromise. I think I'm okay with it if it is not so bright red. Sideshow probably is starting to get a lot of cancellations. Wish I can call Mr. FIX IT! (SNL)

If it was just one photo or one person, I could accept that the lighting was bad, but we've seen quite a few by now.

Agreed, there is no limit to the assumptions of members here.

Apparently they haven't seen this photo yet: It does show that it's not quite the bright red that the earlier pics showed, and this is probably what we should expect to see come out of the box.

Not as bright as the ealier pics, yes. ...but still way to bright a red for the statue. I hope this can be easily changed. Like I've said, I really want to want this statue!

I'm petty skeptical that the piece will come out looking anything like the preview pics, but I'm going to keep my order anyways.

Does anyone have ideas about weathering the red material on your own?

I received #12 today.
The piece itself....the sculpted part is of the best Sideshow has made....I love it.
The undergarments though....Ugh. Mine is pretty RED! That photo is spot on.
