I received #12 today.
The piece itself....the sculpted part is of the best Sideshow has made....I love it.
The undergarments though....Ugh. Mine is pretty RED! That photo is spot on.
There you have it folks. From a reliable source too.

This PF is just another example of how collectors get worked up about Protos... the Moria Orc's proto burgundy tunic looks great, weathered and everything, with the frayed clothing underneath. The production piece is hastily slapped together on an assembly line.
I had that experience with the Strider 12". The proto looked AWESOME with its aged and weathered clothing. And then I receive this pristine leather coat etc. And the paint job was not what the proto showed. The proto is not the production piece and I feel it is VERY misleading.
As a collector I've learned to not expect those elements to be on par with the proto. But that doesn't make it right. At the VERY LEAST SSC should then have a small tagline on the proto pics, indicating "Customized Production Piece" or something. Or just be freaking honest and not show off a proto that they have no intention of replicating that way en masse. Most ppl expect the item to look like the pics SELLING the item on the website.
I can totally understand the disappointment of ppl when they receive this item in hand.

Please remember that this thread goes all the way back to June when the piece was announced. These comments about "119 pages and still nothing from Sideshow"seem to overlook the fact that people were posting in this thread for months before the relatively recent issue with the color arose.

And I might as well get a head start on the inevitable lecture emote:

Congrats on winning a Big Red ...
"This guy" would be me . I posted these pics at another forum. I'm no Ansel Adams and my camera is more than a few years old, but those photos are pretty spot on with what I have in hand. I took the picks without a flash specifically because I didn't want to overemphasize the red. And I feel I need to echo what I posted elsewhere: the sculpt is exquisite; a masterpiece. The red is...meh. I wish it were like the prototype. I hope this helps. I'll skip the first pic since it's already been seen in this thread.Perhaps they'll final get around to putting some of their own updated photo's up then and let us be the judge, though I doubt they'll be any better than this guys pic's.
