If your not trying to get top $, then resellers. If they are very valuable (individual posters worth thousands of $'s) then an auction house. eBay is only good if your poster is something hot, as in, lots of people looking for it, or incredibly rare.

Any other resellers you recommend apart movieposter.com and moviestore.com??

I've never sold any, so that's the extent of my knowledge.

I want to buy a new house, so I was thinking of selling off a portion of my collection, so I'd also be interested to hear from a member more familiar with that.

Where is the best place to sell posters?

I listed a couple on eBay and don't even have any watchers.

eBay is dead for Film Posters unless you have a real gem and are willing to start your auction low.Like I just watched a Star Wars Original 27x41 Rolled Revenge of the Jedi w/minor damage start last week on eBay for $59, this morning it was at $139, the winning bid 2 hrs later was $363.I have seen people start the same poster in better condition at $400-500 on eBay and it just sat there. There are at least 15 of them on eBay right now, all trying to sell for a lot more.None of them are selling and many of them have been there for years.

Anyway, take some time and look at emovieposter Auctions History and go through their archives and look at what the posters you have, have sold for in recent and past auctions. It will give you a very good idea what your poster/posters are selling for/and worth right now. Also you can go to Heritage Auctions and you can go through their Poster Archives also. Both Archives are massive and mention what the poster condition was and what it was graded as.

Both of these Auction places have bidding going on for Poster Auctions all week:emovieposter has 3 Huge Auctions a week (Sunday at 3pm CDT,Tuesday at 7 and Thursday at 7pm CDT).All posters start at .99.
Heritage has Sunday evening Auctions every week. They also have 3-4 Major what they call Signature Poster Auctions a year that last for 3 Days each.

I have bought and sold Film posters on both sites.Buying is better on emovieposter as they do not charge a Buyers Premium.Heritage does which adds 19-20% to your purchase Total.
Selling depending on your posters and their condition is better on Heritage they take 25% flat.emovieposter takes more if your poster is not worth at least $1000 in value.I recently sold a poster for $310 on emovie and they took $80 of that sale.Take in mind If you decide to sell posters through one of these your posters need to have real value to make any serious $.
emovie probably has 20-25K seriuos collectors.Heritage probably has 100k especially for their signature Auctions.

I know these fees make selling on eBay sound not so bad.

Have Fun

just got these 2 back from LB Yesterday.I have an Abbott and Costello and a James Bond still being worked on.I'll post those when I get them back.

1950 Tokyo Joe..Bogart,this is not an expensive poster, but I love the image/art on it.Not much restoration had to be done mainly some work on the crossfolds.
1953 The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms..excellent Ray Harryhausen film.Mainly some work on that top Fold line and it really turned out nice.

eBay is hot for prints these days

Do you do LB locally? What does it run?

I sent my posters to Sylvia Locken at Precision Restoration in L.A.for years. She was excellent. She did work for the Academy. She Retired in 2014.Now I use Poster Mountain and Studio C both in CA and both are good.Average is about $150 for a LB One Sheet. Then you go up $ from there depending on any actual restoration you may want or need done.Funny,I live in SF and never really even looked for someone local.

I have not really checked out prints.I would bet MONDO prints do pretty good.

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask but I was wondering if there are any cheap frames that still look good that I can use for posters?

everything depends on Frame Size,Wood Metal or Plastic,Glass or Plexi,Cardboard or acid free backing. Not sure if you have a Michaels in Canada but they have ready made cheap plastic frames.Their regular and custom Framing is way too expensive.

for more than 20 years I have got all my Frames from Sue Heim at hollywoodposterframes.Great deals on multiple frames and most times free shipping.

Since I won't go into the Avengers thread, I just wanted to let everyone in here know that the Avengers: Endgame poster is available from Disney Rewards today.

750 points.

Already ordered mine.

I know a lot of you are trying to avoid the Endgame thread, but there's really nothing going on in there. I know that will change real soon as some areas are about to see it tonight, but as for now, you're safe.

Thanks! Still not stepping in there though

Thanks for the heads up Rushmore. I just ordered the poster too. I mainly use my reward points for the posters on there. I can't wait to put this on the wall with the Infinity War poster.

The poster is gone from the site already. Must have sold out. I grabbed two.
Glad you got it in time! I thought about buying 2, guess I'll have to be happy with one for now.

Eventually, they usually reappear on there, at least temporarily.
