Music artist not on iTunes. Are they really this dumb?

Not a fan of iTunes...price or quality. Have been sticking with amazon.com mp3's the past couple of years and have been much happier.

didn't the music industry actually try HD music at one time?

They did - they tried something called SACD's (Super Audio CDs). The problem was it was too high end and you needed expensive hardware to actually play them. It never gained much traction.

There's some websites like www.hdtracks.com that sell audiophile quality music downloads, but their catalogue is very limited.

But as a musician and an audiophile (my headphones cost more than my iphone), I know i'm in the minority when it comes to these things. It's a shame. It would be quite easy for Apple to increase the quality of the songs on iTunes for example to 320kbps and use a better encoding format. Hopefully they do that someday.
