Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

Hey guys,
I'm a 3D artist and I really know how it's HARD to sculpt a head with the perfect likeness.
So I really don't think that It's expensive.
I can pay for a amazing work. The adam's work deserve it!

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

No idea what the price is
But I do know that is the most likeness I've seen in a 1/6 joker :clap:bow:rock

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

it IS really hard sculpting a head and you need really so much talent to do such a great job. adams joker sculpts are so damn amazing, i really have played in my dreams with that sculpt :D i really have wished to own such a beautiful art. words really can't describe his work.

but the price for it, it's just too damn high for me. once again, I'm speaking only for me. I surely have the money to afford this, but it's just too much for paying for a headsculpt. maybe I've just not have the passion to pay so much for collectable figures. Others can have it, and if they want the headsculpt for that amount... why not? Enjoy it, you'll have really the best Joker that we'll know.

But there is just one thing that bothers me. As wofford have posted it here, that the original buyer of one of the joker sculpt have told adam not to sell it for less. That was told me too for one other sculpt. Is it really because of the 'original' buyers or just the way how not to sell this piece less than that amount?

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

Pretty interesting discussion here lol. Cheers again for comments on the piece all who commented :) I guess thats another thing to add about the work. 'if you're good at something never do it for free' lol, i like that one, pretty fitting actually :p
If you consider how much a tradesman would charge by the hour, to do a simple job another tradesman could easily do, i think it's a pretty decent price in the scheme of things! For something so individual. The time alone is in the cost, save for the product itself. It wouldn't exactly happen overnight, alot of planning and painstaking work i would presume! Plus, compare in the actual market (not just jokers, but other custom 1/6ths). Have you seen some of those twilight, or marylin figures. Which are basically, from the neck down, quite easily replicated. Some of them are running into the thousands. Up past 6000+US i've seen them go, for basically just a custom head! Now THAT's crazy :p

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

Yeah thats how i always look at it, i work in an industry where some people charge $300-400 an hour just to talk and give consultation its crazy! so if you think about it like that Adam is just doing the same and imo giving us a really good price for the many painstaking hours he will spend on these head sculpts

Well said Adam. I fully understand that you never intended them for sale and know how much persuasion it took to get one from you...let alone another. :)

You had every right to sell none and keep them special to you, but to let a couple of people get some of these from you is an honour. They will easily be the highlight of any collection.

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

Yeah i could not agree more! Adam is a really genuine guy and you can see plainly the guy is amazingly talented! I have also commissioned Adam to do me a Joker sculpt which i have no problem with the price of. IMO the price was actually really good the amount of time and effort Adam will put into this. It again is IMO that Adams sculpts are far superior of any of the HT's sculpts yet!

Congrats man! What expression/sculpt have you asked for, if you don't mind me asking?

Agreed, these will never be beat in terms of accuracy.

To be honest, people here could easily spend the same on, say, PFs, etc. So it really is a case of what you are into. Me, it's all about Joker, so I can easily pass on some other things to fund these.

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

So what is the price for the joker head? Or does the artist not want it out in the open? Completely understand if that is the case.

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

I would imagine you need to send a pm to Adam and ask if you are interested. It may be due to time spent on different sculpts he has charged more so therefore it might be wrong to post prices as this could get messy.

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

I know how much this one was.
I know how much 'standard' ones are.
I definitely know how much my laughing one is.

But I agree with Manji and feel only Adam should be disclosing this info, and only to interested parties over PMs.

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

Yeah. With the debate raging without the price even being posted, imagine what would happen if it were and every random Joe felt like he had to comment on it.

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

Lets just get back onto topic and start celebrating how lucky we are to have a great guy like Adam to allow us to have a chance to grab these amazing Jokers! I would be so insanely gutted if he posted them but didnt make them available. We have just got to be very grateful Adam has been so good to us by allowing us to own these amazing Jokers!!!

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

People are entitled to buy whatever they want. And also paying however much they're cool with paying. My point is, that doesn't magically make the price justified and not overpriced.

If something retails for $300 and becomes a hot item and suddenly people are willing to pay $2000 and up for it, that doesn't mean it's worth $2000 and up. It just means people are willing to pay that amount to get it. There's a difference.

Obviously people are willing to pay for these Joker head sculpts. And that's cool. But anyone attempting to justify the price or anyone acting like these head sculpts aren't grossly overpriced is delusional.

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

Devil, i second that! people going crazy over an item, which simply results in crazy prices.

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

Or you could just admit that these head sculpts are overpriced but that YOU personally don't mind paying that amount to get what you want.

Re: My Custom 1/6th Heath Joker nearing completion, pic heavy

This thread is becoming redundant without new pics or updates...
