Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Well here's what I've been up to these past 2 weeks. Bought, assembled some new shelves and made all the lighting. Now to fill them

"This is where the fun begins!"

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Is that Pax with custom aluminum frame doors?

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Nope they're all Billy with Morliden doors

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Cool, the photo make them look a lot deeper than Billy - probably because the right side of the photo is super dark. Is this a new home for all your customs?

I'll soon be building a custom cabinet about the same width as a standard Billy but 21" deep - may consider Morliden for the doors, otherwise I was going to use a pair of Malm glass table toppers on sliding rails - same price ($40 ea)

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Yeah they're only 11" deep. They don't make the 15" anymore. Sucks! For the price the Morliden doors are nice. It'd be nice to have a single door so you don't have to look at the frame in the middle but...

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Awesome.... Suddenly the detolf I just bought looks like crap! :)

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

This particular setup was $620 CAD+tax. So about 50 cents USD:mad:

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Take a page from the movies and dig a sub-basement multiple levels deep. Once you go down 3 floors, start digging out the sides and back, under your neighbor's properties. ;)

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Great job, I really like the different shades of green you used, I can't wait to see it all put together.

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Thanks guys! Small confession, I photoshoped the above photo a little bit to make it darker (more like how it looks in person.) To the eye I though it looked good but after seeing how the camera picked it up I didn't like it anymore.

Here's the original photo

I went back and gave him another dark green wash. This is how he looks now (un-doctored.) Still a bit lighter than how he looks in person, but pretty close.

Also finished his helmet:

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Haven't decided what to do with the neck. Tried just painting one green, but looks funny, so I think I'll end up sculpting one.

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Looks good Nate. Great work on the helmet.

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

That helmet looks killer. Awesome job.

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Beautiful job on the Rancor Nathan! He looking great.:clap
Did that kit come with a base?... or is that another little something something planned down the road?

I really like what you've done with the Klaatu helmet. The additional mods & embellishes really sets it off.

Keep up the great work dude!
