Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Thanks Duane.

No, there was no base in the kit. The board he's on now is what I'll be using for a base and yes I'll be making it into something a little nicer looking :)

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

I guess that works out for the better.
Even though I could see parts of a factory base coming in handy, there's nothing limiting you from creating one that would be more complimentary to the job you've done thus far.

This is my first vinyl model kit. While the detail in the mold is fantastic, the fact you need to build it first makes painting it tricky. You almost need a gimble or something so you can rotate it 360 degrees

That rancor looks awesome. I could totally see you using some epoxy or something like it to make the strings of slobber coming from its open mouth.

I know exactly were you're coming from. I've got some 1/4 Screamin vinyl kits from years ago. There is a lot of pre though you have to consider before just jumping into putting some of them together.

That is some great work.
The little brown puddles on the wood made me think, oh he is really scared. :monkey4

Finished painting him tonight. I'll take pics tomorrow in the daylight.

Looking very good dude! Those guys are coming along nicely.

Seems like you had the same idea I was thinking about for the head & body for Fozec too. Cool that you got the ball rolling on him confirming ol' Lenny stands in well.

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Did you ever finish Durge?

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Great work on those guards!

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Awesome work dude. Can we get some close up shots of the sculpted neck you did for Klaatu? Looks excellent.

Lenny who? I don't know if this is supposed to be anyone in particular. I really don't like using heads of people who are from other movies/shows. Its nobody I recognize so it works for me.

You got the right guy? I never made a Durge nor do I even know who that is. Comic book character? I don't read comics so.. ???

I said it before "I am no sculptor." its looks good from far, but far from good :lol

I wouldn't worry about at all. It works & looks great for what you're doing with it.

The figure is modeled after the dude who plays Morgan on The Walking Dead.

Re: Natedog's figure bashes and customs - Attack of the Skiff Guards pg50

Yeah and the Durge misunderstanding came back when you posted that WIP for Pre Vizsla. That was a guess someone had said.

Oh ok that sounds familiar now. to answer then, no he's not finished. I hit a couple snags so he's on the back burner. I'm waiting for a better suit to come along like SSC Jango perhaps. A few other things left to do as well (jetpack, darksaber etc.)
