I think the Celts will take game 3 tonight and go up 2-1. Lakers take Game 4, tying the Series, Celts take Game 5 and go up 3-2 with 2 to play in L.A.

This is why I can't stand the 2-3-2 format.

With a 2-2-1-1-1 fomat I could see the Series tied 3-3 with Game 7 in L.A. that's the way it should be and has been throughout the Playoffs.

There will be a lot of talk about this in NBA circles if the Lakers go back home down 2 or worse. I also think Lamar may have cost them game 2 -- when we needed him to step up he was a no show, again.

Another stat to throw out: Phil Jackson is 12-0 in games following Game 2 losses in which his team won Game 1.

Tough task in Boston though, with only two days between games. Funny how there was three days between Games 1 and 2 in LA, but the series shifts to the other coast and there's less time for rest between games.

What I find so intruguing about this series is the matchups, and emergence of the unlikely leader in Rajon Rondo.

That wasn't unlikely at all, he has been tearing up D's all year; and most Laker fans knew the front court would struggle. :monkey4

Sure he was the #2 defensive player in the leauge, but what is interesting is the focus is off the BIG 3 and now turned to the BIG 1 (Rondo).

When he is on his game the Celtics are pretty much unbeatable, can't say that about any other members of the BIG 3.

Except that Ray Allen gifted the Celts in game 2. :lecture

• To put a little perspective on how phenomenal Allen's accomplishment was, our friends at Accuscore.com simulated the game 10,000 times: Allen hit seven consecutive three-pointers 11 times in 10,000 simulations, or 0.11 percent of the time. Allen hit seven in a row in the first half in just two of 10,000 simulations.

That doesn't mean much to me. If you told me that Allen specifically failed to hit 7 consecutive 3 pointers in 10,000 games, it would hold more water. A computer simulation cannot accurately estimate his specific probability of performing that feat. Particularly given that Allen is a great all-time shooter, and probably makes 20+ 3s in a row in practice all the time.

:slap Jeez there's no impressing you.

you an LA fan or something ?

I'm the same. I don't like either team, really. However, I actually am a Ray Allen fan. Have been for years, back when he was with the Bucs (always liked pure shooters like him, Jeff Hornacek, Chris Mullin, Allan Houston, Reggie Miller, etc.). But to say that a shooter like him could only make 7 3s 11 times out of 10,000 seems ridiculous to me. And who knows what factors those guys are using in their models? Maybe Shaq would do that.

I didn't catch this at the end of the game Sunday night and just found out about it now...

"BOSTON – Before the Boston Celtics jetted out of California, Paul Pierce gave Los Angeles Lakers fans something to remember.

“We ain’t coming back to L.A.!” Pierce yelled in the final moments of the Celtics’ Game 2 victory."

Not nearly as bad as looking into the camera and winking during a post game interview and saying that the Celts would be closing out the Orlando series at home, but still, just concentrate on playing ball.

I caught that during the game actually. I'm surprised the commentators didn't talk about it.

I caught it and yelled, ":censored YOU *****" at the top of my lungs at my TV. I hope we make that ***** eat his words.:monkey4

P.S. I've heard of players guaranteeing a win in one game, but to say something like that is just stupid. Pierce is an idiot.

I like Pierce's attitude. It helps his team. He did the same thing when they won both games in Orlando. On another note, I think Artest is not able to be himself, he clearly has been tamed by management and doesn't sport his normal attitude.
