What an awful game if you're rooting for the Celtics.

Garnet looked solid, only if he could get some support from his leading scorers.

Fisher never seemed to get much respect in my eyes, despite being a very solid, consistent player in the playoffs for many years. But then, the good, reliable player that isn't flashy and doesn't get commercials or do "outrageous" things off the court usually isn't given enough attention. This is the case in all sports...
Very true.

...LA fans are probably worse than others because of where they are situated, wanting all their players to be huge "stars" like Kobe and Magic.
Not true. Even during the darkest of times, I still cheered my ass off for the likes of Sedale Threaat, Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones, Elden Campbell :monkey4, etc. ALL sports teams want stars, but just 'cause my team doesn't have one, doesn't mean I'm not gonna cheer for them.

The Lakers though, being the franchise that they are will always, at one point or another, attract stars. One of the two greatest NBA Franchises in one of of the biggest markets, in a very desirable location. Players want to play here.

I'm not saying that it applies to every fan, but when you're near Hollywood, are known for having famous celebrities sitting on the sidelines, and are accustomed to having big stars on your lineup like Shaq and Magic, I suspect the fans in general are less prone to cheer for a guy that shuts up and gets the job done.

Thing is they can't/haven't all gotten hot at the same time, this was Garnett's first decent game - he looked like ____ in game 2. :yess: :monkey1

Getting ahead of myself, since the series has yet to be decided (even though LA leads 2-1 and since the 2-3-2 format was adopted, the team that won Game 3 when the series was tied 1-1 has won the championship all 10 times), but who wins Finals MVP?

In the case of Boston (should they win the championship), no one has really distinguished himself, except maybe Rondo.

As for LA, I would argue that Gasol has been more consistent than Kobe...but would they actually five him the Finals MVP over Kobe?

Of course, it is way too early to say. But unless someone else really takes over and becomes the sole finals star for the Lakers, I bet they'll give it to Kobe if the Lakers win. Gasol playing better won't be enough, because he has to overcome the hype and status that Kobe has (think of how Peyton won the NFL championship MVP despite playing a mediocre game for himself a few years ago). For the Celtics, at this point, there is no clear person who could win it since all of their "Big Three" are on the downslide. So I think it's more of a crap-shoot. Up until this series, Rondo was their MVP. But if any player on their team beyond him has the ability to take over and win them the series, it will be Paul Pierce, IMO. A spot-up shooter like Allen can't do that. Garnett is old and slow now. Davis could be a dark-horse, but though he's played solid ball, he hasn't been their star by any means.

Yep, like I said, I'm getting ahead of myself, but I agree. Kobe's status beats Gasol's consistency for Finals MVP, should LA win.

The Yankee and Lakers fans are the luckiest ppl on earth :lecture. Only difference is, the Yankees literally bought all of their titles.

I thought this series was over after game 1, but last night was pretty pathetic for Boston offense wise. It always boggles my mind how bad referees suck in the playoffs, no consistency at all :lol. Whoever wins 2/3 in Boston will 100% win the title imo.

I just heard a crazy stat...

Derrick Fisher and Kobe Bryant have played more playoff games and have more playoff wins than any back court duo in the history of the NBA. :rock

meh, even during the Magic/Kareem/Worthy "Showtime" era, we So.Cal. fans loved Kurt Rambis. The true fans cheer for anyone who wins them the game.

My biggest gripe with this series is the officiating. right now Rivers is trying to make it sound like the calls are all going against the Celtics but if you really watch the games there are horrible calls on both teams. this has to be one of the worst officiating crews in recent memory.

Something like 106 Playoff Games, Bro. :1-1: :horror:hi5:

EDIT: Make that 117 counting tonight's game.

And if he continues to tonight and the Lakers are ahead, look for The Celts to try to pull some desperate Dragic crap on him. I hope he's not that stupid, but I can see the Celts doing something to change the tenor of the game.

It's what desperate teams do. The Red sox used to always start fights when the yanks were kicking their butts at Fenfay to save face. Cheap junkyard dog bs. Maybe maybe the Celts are just too old and tired for that.

Anyway, this Series has gone back and forth: 1-1-1 so expect a Celts Win. I just hope we take game 5 heading back to L.A.

wow Boston still looks like crap, they cant hit the right side of a barn, and they turned the ball over twice in that quarter when they had wide open players for lay ups, but they throw it away :lol. Its hilarious and frustrating to me when I see pros that cant pass for crap.

2-2 _____es!

Big baby and little Nate dominated the 4th. Lakers need to have more then just Kobe and Pao if there gonna win this series. Bynum looked done last night.

Boston has to win Game 5 if they want to win the championship. I can't see them winning two games in a row in L.A. if they go back down 3-2.

Conversely, even if L.A. drops Game 5, I think they could win the championship with the remaining two games in L.A.

It somehow reminds me of the 93 Finals when New York went back to Houston with a 3-2 series lead and lost the last two games.
