I would think it would I love the part at the start of the article talking about how Jordan said he'd never have done that, and also at the end when someone first told him and all he did was say nothing.

Josh hit the nail on the head. I imagine they figured they would be worshipped as the next great thing. I bet all three (Wade, Jame, Bosh) expected a certain amount of bad press mostly in Cleveland and Toronto. I doubt any predicted such a widespread ongoing negative reaction from players, teams and fans.

LA is better. I'm not a Laker fan but the fact is they're a better team.
As far as picking apart match ups. That doesn't go away from the team concept. As a coach I've done this many times. You look at who is who on the other side and figure out how you can exploit them. Thats damn good thing to do.
Thats the thing. I don't think they expected to be hated the way they are right now and expected everyone to just say its over. Lots of things can get in their way. The East is no longer a cake walk they will have to earn a right to the finals.
IMO the legends of the game saying things speaks volumes over folks like me or us here. They played the game at that level and IMO their 2 cents is worth a lot.
