Kobe ranks as most clutch in NBA players’ poll

Sports Illustrated released an interesting poll this week of the most clutch shooter in the NBA.

A poll of 166 NBA respondents had 74 percent wanting Kobe Bryant picked as who they would want shooting with the game on the line.

Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant was second with 8 percent. Miami’s Dwyane Wade was third with 3 percent. Boston’s Ray Allen and Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki, with 2 percent of the vote, were tied for fourth.

No LeBron? :wink1:

And Im guessing Wade's "3%" was probably his teammates lolz

Okay you're all over the place...

The argument is that the Heat's ease in the first round is a harbinger of bad news as the Heat will 'not be prepared' because the first round was too easy.

My rebuttal is that several championship teams had NO problems adjusting to the second round series after first round sweeps (including the two years the Bulls swept the Heat in the first round).

Can't get too excited about sweeps, now I don't remember the exact year (it was either when the Lakers lost to Detroit or Chicago, I think Chicago) but the lakers swept every series and looked unbeatable until the Finals where they got owned. It happens.

They can answer how they'd like, but STATISTICS show that Melo has been the best clutch player in the NBA for the last 5 years.

He gets a lot of hate, that I never really paid attention to, until I was forced to(now that he's a Knick).
:slap:lol

I still think he's a sissy, but the man shows results when the game is on the line.

Hmmmm...not so sure about that, have a source?

If memory serves me right, that was against the Pistons, and that was due to several Laker injuries (Magic, Scott etc)

Statistics show that 'Melo is a wuss, too. Facts are, I would rather Chauncey take a big shot in a big game, rather than 'Melo. I'll admit, he is an incredible volume shooter/scorer and he was needed in NY, and he needed NY. But the guy has no winning pedigree. And don't cite the NCAA tourney for one season, when he was a broke, hungry kid playing in the college ranks for future $$$$.

As a pro, he is underwhelming in vital spots, he has not shown to be a leader or the type of guy that can lead an organization.

I'll say this, he may never have ot show that, because the way the NBA is now, it seems like all these stars want to pair up and join-up for their chance at rings. Case in point, the Celtics, what Miami did and how the landscape of the NBA has changed in acquiring stars and moving forward, or these players talking about wanting to join others, rather than being like the old NBA, where you knew Charles would stay for years in Philly and try to win, likewise for Stockton and Malone, or Ewing and his role players, Mark Price, Daugherty and those role player, Wilkins, Augmon and that crew and so forth.

So true Sean Elliot, so True

Lakers looking good. Bigs playing big again (key to the series). Despite CP's half-ending 3, Kobe is getting in his head with shadow D, basically mugging the ____ out of him and he hasn't even started to get it in gear. :lol

As long as the Lakers control the boards, it's gonna be a long night for NO -- unless the Lakers get lazy with a lead which they're prone to do.

PS. Happy for Spurs fans they got their groove back with Manu... you always want to see your team with their best 5 on the floor. That's about all I'll say about the Spurs. :lol
