Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers
I picked up a Mark 43 today, and it's definitely a major step up from the Mark 7. Putting them side by side makes the Mark 7 look very mediocre. In terms of the overall look and paintwork, this may be Neca's best quarter scale figure. It looks REALLY good.
The figure also feels a lot more sturdy than the Mark 7 for the most part. I was really surprised by the weight too, as it's definitely not as heavy as most of the quarter scale figures. I have no worries of him falling. I have heard some complain about the ankles not having enough articulation, but I think it's perfect. Just enough to get some cool poses, but not so much that the figure will fall.
The lights give a much better effect compared to the Mark 7 too. The "fogged" white plastic with the light behind it really makes it look like its glowing.
I will say it is a bit annoying having the shoulder pads connected to the torso, but there's so much good here that I'll give it a pass. Overall I would definitely recommend picking the Mark 43 up, especially if you want a higher quality Avengers team.
