Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Finally got mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2 so awesome!!!! I dont want to go to work now!!!!

When's the review my friend? I will never forget your 1/4 NECA predator review. An absolute classic!!! Watched it at least 10 times. Lol

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Mine has some paint issues (pretty much the same as the pics above), but I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it because truth be told, I'm pretty sure a ton of these have the same problems. It didn't come with a HT price, so you really can't expect perfection. Sometimes you gotta step back and just see it for what it is.
If people keep complaining about such minor things, maybe they should go buy one in person so they can see what they're getting into.
I remember getting my first 6inch Walmart exclusive Mark VI. It was the absolute last one anywhere in my area, and it had a huge line (indent)running down the left eye. I got a little upset that I didn't have more to choose from, but the reality was, at least I had a chance to get one, period! I bought it, and never really regretted it. I figured that I would just make it a battle damage version if it really bothered me that much.
Seriously, those paint issues pointed out above are not that big of a deal.

Agreed, as annoying as those issues are... the bar needs to be lowered on something so massively produced. But hey at least he has dents and dings from battle damage all the time!

Come on, I am reasonable, but I paid 98 bucks including shipping and I do not want a figure with painting flaws on the face, forehead and thighs that are easily visible. You can spot from few feet away. Plus the scratching on the figure.

My wife who does not understand anything about figures told me it looks like a cheap Walmart toy given such poor quality control. and I have to agree with her

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

pretty typical neca paint job.

its going to become more an more unacceptable when they go into the upper price brackets for people. on the bright side you guys didnt have to re assemble and glue you figure back together like i and other have lol

some quality has to be sacrificed with these guys unfortunately...its the name of the game.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

You know at first i was thinking the same thing when i got my Cap figure!I couldn't believe that the figure had so many paint flaws but then i realized that you get what you pay for! This isn't Hot Toys so to expect a Enterbay head sculpt with say Hot Toys accessories(as well as QC) at 1/4 scale for under $100...NON EXISTENT!!After having my hissy fit about how cheap and horrid my figure looked i noticed that he isn't bad at all!As a matter of fact, the sculpt is more accurate to Chris Evans face than the HT version!Yeah,it doesn't come with fabric clothing and yeah it doesn't come with a boatload of accessories but for the price how can i complain!?^_^

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

By the way,i just got my tracking # from Drakeship and i still think they have some available!^_^

Flip it then. Get more money. Buy HT and get even more mad because of their flaws....or future flaws (the way things usually go)

Enterbay GoD Bruce Lee! Now that's bang for your buck! Just make sure you don't move the feet at all at all!

I think in your situation I would just try to exchange for one with lesser issues. I just got mine out of the box. I have some weird paint thing on his right thigh, and a tiny dot of paint on his face.

I have seen a few of the Captain America figures in-store. I dont think I saw a single one that had clean paint between the mask and the face.... super sloppy.

Paint issues aside I love this piece, it looks pretty high end. My only complaint is the torso... especially the legs seem a bit long / skinny.

I just talked to cornerstorecomics. They got my email with pictures and they agreed that the figure was not acceptable.

They will replace with no extra charges. They also told me they will check their available figures and send me one that is not that bad.

again, I am not looking for a perfect figure. However, many flaws in front of the figure is just not acceptable in my opinion. My figure did look really bad in person. You can literally see the silver plastic on his neck given such bad scratches

Perfect! I am happy it worked out! Hopefully your complaint on the NECA Facebook gets a little traction as well. I just turned on all of the lights on the figure.... there is paint all on the light lens of the right hand! Annoying but not a huge deal.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

I just got my MkVII from BBTS the other day, and despite some minor paint slop here and there, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. However, I'm not too fond of how top-heavy the figure is, and how wobbly the ankles are. I've already had him take a header off a desk, which ended up nicking his faceplate; I managed to touch it up with a metallic marker, but if this keeps up, Iron Man's going to end up looking battle-damaged without my having to mod it at all... :slap

Yeah, mine has tumbled three times. No damage that I can tell though. Had some paint flaws with the face plate to begin with, but honestly, I'm treating this guy more as a toy than as a collectible, so I'm not too concerned.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Put blu-tack on his feet before you put him on the shelf.
Two little round pieces, front and back of each foot and set him down on the shelf. His own weight will settle him and make a strong connection. Just make sure and apply a twisting force to the figure when you want to lift it.
I do this even to my HT on their stands. It's just in case they fall over.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Just got my Ironman from BBTS. Even with a little paint slop here and there I am very impressed with the figure. Once I battle damage him up he will be even more stunning. Only real issue I have is his eyes won't light up. Anyone have a similar problem? Don't really feel like buying new batteries for it.

I'll snap some pics soon with him and EB Bats.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

LOL at all the shelf diving stories and damage descriptions. :lol

I'm not exempt, my Cap has some new nicks that were not there on arrival. :lol

One 3am nose dive was so loud that I went for my shotgun. :lol

I could see using the blue tac and finding the figure bent over with butt in the air but feet still planted on the ground. :lol

What are we going to do, the combo of weak ankles and top heavy design is part of the charm and stress.

When all is said and done, I remind myself that this isn't a low end plastic collectible, no sir.

It's a very high end, high quality, highly fun action figure. :yess:

I just always fall back on the fact that this is a hundred dollar behemoth of a figure that i'm not afraid to touch.

Does that mean i'm less excited about posing my 1/6 Keaton with the 1/6 Batmobile when it's finally arrived, hell no, that will still be my high end show piece.

But my collection, and wallet, certainly have a place for these $100.00 gems, nice bang for the buck.

Go Neca! :yess:

Now Mr. Gorbachev and Neca, knock down that wall, and give us our 1/4 Hulk!
