Me and my boys! I just sold one today!

You must be very proud of your boys.

Didn't see this posted but Toys R Us has these listed on their site again. The masked one wasn't available but the other 2 are. It also says they are available in store but wont let you check inventory on the site. Has anybody found these in store on the east coast?
I called the TRU here in NE Phila and gave the product # and she told me the computer showed "Not eligible". I asked her what that means exactkly and she said usually it's for things like certain baby items that they will not carry and only Babies R Us would for example. In other words they will not be carrying it according to them. I asked her to check other Philly stores and all of them said the same thing on her computer. She checked even further out and the closest was South Carolina. I was hoping to grab the last one I need, the opened mouth for $69 plus tax but I guess not. I don't want to order it online because I am afraid to get a ripped one.

I wonder where in SC, cause I have yet to check my local TRU for one. Being lazy as heck. If they have them they will be there for a while.

Got the same thing today 'not eligible'. Closest store available was in Missouri (I'm in Minnesota). And here I was wasting gas.:slap

Ok. Here are the two sisters.

Same exact lighting conditions. You decide which one you like more...
Yes, I guess you can always argue that's a bad picture/least favorable angle/I made it look worse for HT P1, but guess what...
I can take a picture of the NECA version in any angle and it still looks great...

I must say, I was expecting one horrible paintjob, hence I bought only one version, but it seems the factory paint ain't that bad after all...
The overall look/feel/proportions (and I hate to say it) of the NECA figure (head, body & even the joints) seem a lot better than Hot Toys.

It's very hard to believe how bad the H... oh wait, just let me rearrange my words here a bit...
It's hard to believe how good the NECA sculpt really is. After P2 Elder Hot Toys shouldn't of had any difficulties capturing the likeness of P1. I was one to critisize the Hot Toys sculpt from the start, but really... what happened there? Seems like the NECA head is even constructed the same way (seam in the mandible area), so that's no excuse...
I haven't bought anything from NECA in years, but they really out-did themselves here. Really nice figure, even bigger then I expected. Wish I had room for the other two...

This would've been a perfect companion to HT Dutch & Billy in 14inch scale :monkey2

I have to agree with you there, I was never blown away by HT's HS and Bio (I bought one of the custom bio's here) but it still looks great next to the other figures from that movie. I have all 3 Preds now and I would buy the Pred 2 in a second, all 3 versions, I would have 90 1/4 scale preds if I could, walls and walls of NECA goodness. I would build a fort out of the boxes and Preddy and I can all sip tea and talk about the next hunt. Just Joking guys, 60 Preds would be almost enough. :nana::nana::nana:

you are right about the likeness with P2 elder, they should had been able to make a good p1 head, and, the paint of the Neca pred IS Not even that bad, is pretty decent, actually the light pink, i like it better than the red in the mouth

You like the pink better because it's supposed to be pink, not red.

As for the head sculpt.. Elder didn't wear a Bio. P1 did. If they were to make it completely accurate, the Bio would not fit on.
Yet the Bio is still horribly ____ty. :lol

But even if HT did what NECA does and made 3 different head sculpts, it still wouldn't be accurate.

We seem to agree, but elder not wearing a bio is no reason for it not to work. And yes the bio is horrendous...

All I'm saying Hot Toys could've made the head work. I mean P2 elder sculpt was near perfection. All they needed to do was duplicate it to P1 with a few minor changes (elder's design was based on P1 anyway).
Unless... it's another case of V1 Joker and there's a DX written somewhere between the lines here, hmmm...
But anyway, rambling on... in my opinion all HT open mandibles look somewhat off (with the exception of P2), but if they really wanted to keep the interchangable mandibles and not give out three separate headsculpts, all they needed to do was make the bio in a fashion none of the mandibles need to be under it (you cant see them there anyway). The bio could've attach to the jaw, just like the mandibles. Maybe that way it would've even stayed on a little better? Hence there wouldn't of been anything to hold the artistry of the headsculpts back... What was so hard at that?

Overall, after seeing what NECA just pulled off, the Hot Toys P1 head/bio is a big disappointment.

I get what you're saying. The way the HT pred-heads are now the mandibles need to be in place for the masks to fit - but why did that have to be so? Why couldn't they have got the mask to plug into the (empty) slots where the mandibles go? Excellent point, I don't see why they couldn't. Aswell as enabling greater sculpt accuracy it'd also eliminate the worry of scratching paint off the mandibles as you force the biomask on.

Has anyone bought this book?

Of course.

@a-devandotherdude

One thing I've always thought would be perfect is if they, like you said, had the Bio plug into the face. It's just so much easier that way. Head sculpt could be accurate, you wouldn't scrape your 200$ figure, etc. And come on, they already do it with the mandibles and breathing mask..
I really just think they don't care anymore. A lot of people worship Hot Toys and will buy anything they make.

Kinda pisses you off, doesn't it?
