I would agree with that 100%
I guess I was being a bit controversal when I called the Pred 2 a wimp.
My whole point was that I wish I liked him and the film more. That way I would have no problem buying the great Neca figure.

It's heavily debatable if predators as a race have any "respect". The only reason he let Arnie live a little longer was because he wanted to toy with him - "No sport"
If anything the most respectful act came from City Hunter in letting the pregnant Leona live when he could have easily killed her PLUS she was armed.
The thing with Harrigan is that he shadows Dutch from the first film. It's not just about being the best shot or the strongest, the predator has trouble with Harrigan because he's the smartest and the best "game". Danny Glover I admit doesn't light the world on fire but that's more of a casting problem than an actual character problem.
Also we know nothing about the Elder predator. He might have got that gun from Captain Jack Sparrow on a 3 man ship for all we know.

what a beautiful video. Natural lighting is the only way to photo and video collectibles. JOB WELL DONE. They look so awesome together.

Predator took off his helmet and was willing to go mano a mano with him. Arnie put up a great fight. It was a challenge. I think the Pred respected that challenge and the Fight that Dutch put up. And how you can not see the elder giving Danny one of his trophies as a sign of respect then I don't know what to say.
If you want to take the AVP films as predator lore then yes they are a race that have "respect" for "great" warriors. Look how they treated the woman in that film AVP. Goofy yes but still a sign of respect was given.
Yes Danny was bad casting. However Arnold could have been in part 2 and I would have hated how they handled the Predator at the end. It's why I loved the first film. He kicked Arnold's ***. It was not an "Arnie" flick were Arnold is just an unstopable machine. Arnold won that battle by outsmarting him and with a little luck. Very un "Arnie" flick like.
If he was in Predator 2 it would have been the typical Arnold Kicks the bad guys *** kind of film. The only reason it was exciting at all is because Danny looks so slow and old and like everything aches to move. But then again it makes it all the more stupid that he put up a great fight. He was not smart. He came at the Pred head on. He did not out smart him. He out gunned and out fought him. I don't care who you stuck in that film. That still would suck.
And yes Pred 2 did let the woman with child live. Basically that is what all hunters do. They don't kill a preg animal.
But as I said. I do not mean to offend those who like the Pred 2. He looks cool and has some cool weapons (another reason he should have taken Danny to the wood shed) but overall he has nothing on the original.
I will say he is the 4th best in the series. After the original, Elder, and Wolf.
The 'respect' he has for Dutch is really undermined by his setting off his wristbomb and laughing though. Really comes across as a spiteful, sore loser. It didn't know for sure that Dutch would escape the blast.
So I'm not convinced the Predator was originally intended to be written as having a sense of honor...or if it was they didn't really think it through properly with the predator's last act.

Im not sure if it was meant to be sadistic or honor in Predator. There was a scene thats on the deleted scenes just before the final battle and P1 has a clear shot of Dutch and moves its laser up his back, back of his head then shoots past his head to the tree in front.
But im not sure if thats just it playing with its prey or not wanting to shoot him in the back

Well after some fun debating my Neca Predator closed Mouth got here today.
Big thanks to yautja31337! He sold me this and included the Gort skull and spine all for a great price. I got the just the Open mouth head, and no body from fellow member sharpnel and I have a masked version on the way. After all is said and done the package will cost me about 180.00 bucks. Not too bad for a great figure. I also have some skulls coming from ashkanls. I hope to customize the base a little bit. Thanks to reefershark for telling me where I could get the round base.
I am very impressed with the fact that the Closed mouth and open mouth sculpts are different beyond just the mouth. I thought that the closed mouths brow looked different in all the photos but I did not read any mention of it. I assumed it was just camera angles but no that Brow is very different. Which is very important to the closed mouth look. Great job. Neca. I really hope they knock the Elder out of the park!

Man I can't get over how well this holds up agains my other PFs. I mean when I first walk into the room, you really can't tell that it is basically a large toy. If you get the right pose it looks just about as good as any 300.00 statue. Really amazing. Can't wait to get the masked version.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can use as a peg for the foot so I can keep it conected to the base. I know I can use a screw but I was wondering if anyone else has used something different.
You could use a nail, just cut/file/grind the pointy end flat.

Congrats bro - it looks great! Never noticed the other differences in the sculpts myself, that's awesome. Really become a huge NECA fan over the last few years cause of this type of stuff and quality of their sculpts.
I really wish tankman worked for Hot Toys...
He's sculpts are so increadible and it's such a pity to see 'em ruined by NECA
Its a kind of cruelty that the best sculptor of Predators, and very accuracy-minded chap, works at low-end while at high end we have talented but fairly indifferent sculptors working on them.
