NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

I think it looks fantastic. A lot of people are comparing pictures and they have to remember the pictures they released may have the jaw down a bit to see the teeth. That changes the look of course...it's about how close they can get and still have articulation. Neca has by far the best alien figures...and I have very little doubt in this figure. When we see how large it is it will be clear it is not a "beak look " the proper lighting will probably show just how clear they are. It's got that purple tinge to them and that is the same color as the dog alien dome...they are probably going to be more clear than we expect. I will be doing subtle repaints on this one, but he is the best posable alien figure to date.

I totally agree with you! I will go for neca and although i'm sure it won't dissapoint me, it's 100usd not 2500 usd like other alien statues in ebay. It will be easy to "buy" another one if it doesn't please me. I had many doubts between this and hot toy's one but men... 500usd? I go for neca's and no doubts it will be amazing and if the lips disturbs me a lot, i will try something with them. I am sure that someone will do it first as with the repaints, and if I see that it looks better, I will try it also.
At least is an afordable figure and it looks better than others with three "0". Lol.
The figure is amazing, ok the lips, but we need tu see it first or a preview to check if they are clearer or disturbing. I' sure not

still duller than A1 suit. they just didn't put any effort in their appearance, giving everything to the queen.
and that neck is the worst thing after cheap paint.

Forgive my ignorance, but you guys know what you're talking about. Is there any reason for why the Big Chap has a dome but the Aliens Xenos don't? Is that generally attributed to spawning from a different organism, like the Dog Alien? I'm sure there is both a technical filming reasons and a lore one at this point.

Filming was because the dome was too fragile, so they basically said "screw it".

Lore....no one really knows. Most explanations fall short due to the latter films. If anything else, I'd say it had something to do with the size of the hive/nest.

besides what FACEBOX said about actual reason and one of the versions of story reason, there's also another explanation i know, it includes their age: several days instead of several hours. enough days to grow one of them into a queen at least. there were no aliens so old in any later movie (right?)

For what its worth Cameron never bothered to explain it either, but over the years it came down to 2 things: Either the Aliens lost their cowl because they were older or it was something to do with their environment. To this day both these theories still hold up and we still debate it, what REALLY pisses me off is then 2 dicks come along and change things AGAIN just because it "looks cool", and actually think no-one will be any the wiser!!

Cameron did explain it. Originally, Stan Winston had the dome over the skull like the original, but Cameron had him remove it for fear it would break during the stunts and cost time and money to constantly replace them. He also said he ended up liking it better because what's under the dome is more interesting to look at.

...Aliens Ripley was constantly sold out way before getting released. She's the Ripley "everyone" wanted. You should try eBay now before the price starts going really up.

It is possible they do another round though. As I recall, the Jungle Patrol and Disguise Dutch figures re-appeared on Toys R Us shelves about 2 months after they 'sold out'. Maybe it was just my local one with a hidden stash, but I think there was another round of figures made to meet demand. If NECA is smart they will keep cashing in with more. Still if you can source one now, it is better safe than sorry.

...I agree NECA has the best looking Xenos, but those lips still don't look cool. I guess it's only a matter of trying to remove them and be happy with the rest of the figure
