NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

Just got Vazquez and I gotta say this is one of the best head sculpts in this scale that I have seen. I think it's better than Ripley

As I discovered the other day when I was looking at the packaging for a few figures - Adrienne Smith seems to be NECA's go-to for female sculpts. To be honest I don't rate the Ripley likenesses all that high, they're just OK IMO. However Vasquez and T2 Sarah Connor are fantastic. Looks like she's done a good Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman aswell.

...they can't do anything DC or Marvel at that scale, unless they exploit "loopholes" with DC like the last two years

Thanks! I added some silver drybrushing to Vasquez's smartgun and repainted everyone's boots to be more screen accurate.

Bishop is hilarious how out of place he is - the paint on his face is terrible, and that diaper makes him look like he too a big crap in his pants before getting sealed into the pipe to align the dish.

I really hope they redo Bishop down the road too. He is such a flawed figure overall and I am surprised NECA signed off on it as well as Lance himself.

Bishop doesn't seem all that bad to me he doesn't stand out positively worse than the others, they all have their issues and the quality has always been just alright. But then again I havn't got series 9 yet and I've heard it's a big step up.

Hate to say it but getting another Bishop would be like getting another Frost at this point. I really can't see it happening, not that Bishop doesn't still have multiple looks that are uncovered, but that Bishop sold pretty miserably. I've still got to try and get rid of loads of units of him from leftover stock.

However in case anyone wanted to know I can confirm that Aliens Series 4 is maybe not by far, but definitely is the worst selling series so far.

Yep the first and last all human wave. The UK distributor is having to majorly discount units to try and get rid of excess stock.

Not knowing at the time if there were ever going to be a suited-up Lambert figure to complete the trio or other Nostromo crew released may have had a hand in hurting some sales among other reasons.

The Bishop figure doesn't look bad to me. Strange it's normally me complaining about crap proportions, ugly joints, stupid hair etc etc. The eyebrow and eye paint is my only beef with that one.

I like the Bishop figure. Granted, I managed to find one with a pretty good paint-job, but I also ordered three more from Amazon to use as other synthetics/USCN crewman. Still need to find some appropriate-looking headsculpts, though.

I'm paraphrasing here but based on Twitter talk today in regards to Drake and Apone Randy stated if they can reach an agreement that works for both sides they are possible. When asked if there were negotiations going on he then said they cannot comment on ongoing negotiations.

Man, that sounds like Neca is at least going after one of them. I would guess Drake but what if they were somehow able to get both!!!!!!!

Maybe but what I took from it was the key word being ongoing. He didn't say we can't talk about negotiations, he said he couldn't talk about any ongoing negotiations like there were was an active negotiation(s). He also didn't give the same answer as many times before.

I think they probably are in negotiation with Mark Rolston at least. They recently said they can't reach Al Matthews.

Now yes it's looking into this a bit deeper. But we know for pretty much certain that Randy isn't talking about Apone (Al Matthews) here, He's clearly talking about Drake (Mark Rolston). Why? because we already know the answer if this question was solely about Apone - "he's uncontactable" Randy has been quite clear to tell people this.

I reckon Mark / Drake / Mark Drake (get it?) could be causing a bit of an issue here contract wise - He's possible asking for too much atm.

Drake is also the next logical Marine to do,

I would take this all as confirmation that Neca is in talks with Mark Rolston to make a Drake figure. But is this even a surprise anyway?

Sorry should have been more clear I'm not saying that I wouldn't be surprised if we got a Drake figure, because that would be awesome and a nice announcement, as like you said in the past Randy has made it seem unlikely (Randy Speak).

What I'm saying is it's not surprising at all that Neca would be in talks with the actor to make a Drake figure. Whether it works out or not is a different thing.
