NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

I wasn’t expecting much after the vs. Predator vs. Prometheus mess but I’m enjoying Defiance.

I liked the last Predator series with the Kenner Preds too and would love to see some of the Kenner Aliens make a return. Hell we have Dredd vs. the two right now so a Kenner Aliens vs. Predator with garish Predators facing off against a menagerie of aliens would be fine with me.

Yeah, that Predator/Prometheus/Aliens series was a bit of a mess...
The Fire and Ice one I did enjoy though.

That Alien head could be from the new Defiance comic series. There was a conversation on their twitter that said it was definitely possible and in that thread the artist said his Defiance Alien design was a modified A:CM Spitter.

The sculpt is missing the hammerhead like protrusions that appear on the Spitter but it doesn’t look finished so could be easily added making it the first A:CM figure.

No, Defiance Alien's head was copied from the Spitter, minus the smooth dome and projecting widgets on the sides. Not too surprising though, I guess, given Tristan Jones' art for the comic, and the comic itself in general, seem to be characterized by just grabbing things at random and mashing them up, so we have the not-Spitter running around, a protagonist who's sort of a transporter accident fusion of Ripley and Woods from the first AvP movie (with the hairstye of Christie from Resurrection) and Marines who appear to have come straight from Fallujah circa 2004.

i'm not sure if I want to get it yet, but if I decide that I do, I'll wait until I see it in stores. The QC on the AvP comic 2-pack w pretty spotty.

I can’t see them releasing two Kenner figures straight after a dedicated Kenner wave.

There is that yeah, unless they want to burn through the Kenner wave quickly so they can get back to the movie figures or expanded universe ones.

In any case, we know Lambert and the Lemonade Alien ( yes, thats what I am calling the blue warrior ) and this new drone make up the entire wave I gather ?

Which 1:1 Chestburster does everyone want from Neca, or Hot Toys for that matter? I prefer the more larval version with only arm buds, from the original film. The creature still needing to molt/grow is more interesting to me. Didn't like the addition of the arms on Cameron's version.

Hey all, does anybody have this problem with Neca toys at your local TRU? It's just the Alien line that I noticed this about but I made a rare stop by the TRU in Greenwood Indiana - a well known scalper haven and found a Frost with his helmet missing, vas with the blast effect missing and an Amanda Ripley with her motion tracker missing. All figures had there clamshell cut open for someone to steal the piece then apparently a TRU associate taped the package up then put the figure out for sale at full price. I spoke to an associate and brought it to his attention and he said he knows, they come out of the sealed shipping box like that and he said the parts get stolen from the factory before its shipped to TRU. Luckily the Albino Alien I was still needing wasn't compromised so finally picked that up. I hate going to that TRU and only go about 3-4 times a year but always find weird stuff like this so I thought I'd ask around to see if this is a widespread issue.

I'd be willing to bet that the action figures you speak of were taped up and put back on the shelf by someone who didn't know any better, or didn't care. I doubt that they arrived at the store with missing pieces.

Nothing beats the original Chestburster. Aliens version isn't as elegant and the A:R version has a crocodile mouth.

Doesn't even look like what it ultimately becomes.

Tristan confirmed on twitter that the head sculpt is for the Defiance Alien coming in series 11. So that will join Lambert and the Blue Kenner alien.

The Chestburster from Alien is probably the only one I’d get in that scale. I still have my fingers crossed for an egg pack from Alien which I also prefer.

I wasn't buying it either, I figured customers were coming in and stealing then the employees would tape the package up and put them back on the pegs. I do wonder why the neca vendor who would stock the figures doesn't remove the figures with missing pieces from the store. The amanda Ripley with missing motion tracker has been there forever.

i don't want any 1/1 chestburster. but i prefer A1 variant as you do - it has a much better face, and no arms was good.

I personally would love it if they did the Queen chest burster in the curled up pose shown in the original movie poster.

I love the original chestbuster... I hope that NECA will make a 1:1 chestbuster from the original movie. The others chestbusters are ugly.
