Is that a new warrior with the exploding acid, or the old one from the Hudson 2-pack?

Ughh. I hate it every time I see a picture of Hicks posted. It reminds me of how well Neca did with Biehn's likeness there, and how they butchered him in their Reese figure. I might have to pick up an extra two pack and do a custom Kyle head.

I like the way you think. :wink1:

well they couldn't encounter a single egg for sure. i think the case was the same that it was with Kane - directly disturbing one of dormant eggs by one person down there, another person staying up.
Doubtful. Remember, the Derelict had been damaged and tilted over by seismic activity by that point, so the Jordens were able to enter the egg chamber directly from the outside

a) both things still don't change anything - there is no way eggs can measure distance good enough not to open simultaneously, so accidental openings can happen
Not on-screen, apparently. :)

=> facehuggers and eggs aren't super precious.
Maybe not in an active hive with a full-grown Queen...

so...
can you people show how you pose Vasquez?
a wonderful figure, a masterpiece of sculpt and paint at that scale. but those boots articulation doesn't allow anything decent. or does it?...
I haven't had any problems.

I think that Drake and maybe Dietrich will be the last big named marines we may get out of the line. They had bigger parts that the other side marines and also were notable to die in the hive at the start of the film. And had enough lines and scenes to make them semi important enough. I mean, it would be cool if we get Ferro or her co pilot as well, but granted they are not as big as said first two.

After that, I guess the only others from Aliens in particular would be Apone or Burke. Burke funnily enough may be made after all, Paul has been in touch with NECA and Randy I believe and also wished everyone a happy LV 426 day on twitter. A one off Burke figure as a store or even Alien Day exclusive would be a near idea.
Rumour is that the next Marine out of the pipe will be Wierzbowski, if Trevor Steedman's family consents.

I've always thought that facehuggers need some agility and limited survivability in order to fulfill their role in the xenomorph life cycle.
I've always thought they imposed an unnecessary complication on that life-cycle. Why not just give the adult xenomorphs the ability to implant chestbursters into their prey, like some species of terrestrial wasps?

Looks a little different. The 2-pack version had yellowish blood, whereas this one seems to have neon-green splatter, more like the headshot xeno from the Hicks 2-pack.

Also, anyone else think the sentry look a little smaller than the initial photo of the prototype?

Jester - where did you hear that from? I'll gladly take a Ski figure but hadn't heard anything about him.

Anybody else having a hard time getting on to Neca's twitter feed?

If we were to get a Wierzbowski and Burke figure that'd be a great sign - as the marines go 'Bowski is arguably as obscure as it gets while Burke is as ''boring'' in an action figure sense as it gets. It would seem to open up the possibility of everyone else bar those who outright refuse their likeness or can't be contacted.

Indeed. :)

In the meantime, though, I'm going to keep working on building up my group of "off-screen" Marines. ;)

hm, you're right, than it's the dormant eggs theory.

I haven't had any problems.
thank you, that's very helpful. i know that some people don't have problems with posing. :rotfl

i have a shot down alien, don't know what pack it is, but his head is smashed, skull flying in the air while lower jaw is on its place.

well I never read raw treatment, just going on what was presented on screen.
with Scott it's dangerous, he often leaves important plots off-screen and wastes time on people stupidly walking and staring. i always said his brother stole his camera car - the thing that has a camera mounted on it and moves - and that's why one Scott has movies that don't stop even for a second and another has movies that don't move at all.

I'd take a photo, but I don't really have any space to shoot right now.

The one from the Hicks 2-pack. The blood spray from that one is considerably more fluorescent green than the alien that came with Hudson.

Damn I forgot about Wierzbowski. That would be a cool tribute if the family thinks it would be a good idea. Plus, NECA could do something a bit different with him and maybe give him a more different armour or weapon to make him stand out a bit more.

TRU had ALIEN 3 NECA figures for $37.99 CAN (WTF!!! :slap) One figure $37.99 + 12% tax. NECA prices are getting silly. The had POTA series one Dr. Zaius on clearance for $9.98 a price that I find more reasonable so I made that purchase!

Must contain my jealousy for Jester's marines, seriously those are fantastic.

I'd prefer if they kept things accurate to the movie, at least with the front of his armour. Perhaps do something new on the back like they apparently did with Frost. I don't think anyone here had a problem with that.

Some new body parts might be appropriate, given he's probably the most heavyset of the Marines.

Thanks, a-dev. Glad you like them. :)

Since the lighting in my oven isn't too conducive to capturing small details, I've tried taking some more photos (in a more prosaic setting, unfortunately) to hopefully give a better look at what I've done.

I'm calling this one PFC Michael Blond ;)

Here's my squad at present, not counting multiples (e.g. "War-Face" Hicks and Hudson):

And an extra shot of Vasquez for P. ;)

That would be great. I would love to have all of the original marines.

I have both, due to the color difference (brown vs blue) the big N painted it green this time around.
Dont think so, turret is like a half marine. 500px-AliensSentryGunBTS.jpgIMG_0851.JPGIMG_0851.JPG

Nobody mentioned anything about the glow in the dark avp alien. I jus saw it today and was tripped out
I think it's meant to be an homage to this:

ClearGreenWarriorAlien.jpg

yep, so it's not me not able to pose her, it's just impossible to give her a natural pose with those boots articulation.
We obviously have two very different understandings of what constitutes a "natural pose." :dunno

I mentioned this over in the Alien Statue thread but I think most don't go there so I'll mention it here.
A company called Eaglemoss which makes partworks magazine figures and vehicles for Marvel, DC, and Star Trek has the Alien and Predator license.
I just found out that they're making Alien Vehicles. Their scale ships for the Star Trek line are pre-painted and assembled; part diecast-part plastic ships with magazine that ship twice a month. They're very similar to the NECA Alien Cinemashines, just made a whole lot better.
I collect the Star Trek line and the NECA Cinemachines just don't compare, Eaglemoss knows how to make small scale models. It might be a good idea to wait on buying the NECA Alien ships and get the Eaglemoss Alien ships instead.
No mention of price or release schedule at the moment, or if they're making Predator ships as well.
They're also making Battlestar Galactica ships BTW.
Mentioned at the Star Trek Mission: New York convention. From The Trek Collective:
Finally, beyond the Star Trek universe he (Eaglemoss Star Trek series manager Ben Robinson) also noted there will be new Eaglemoss ship series launching soon featuring designs from Aliens and Battlestar Galactica!
